RF-mod-4 Beta
ya im still have that little problem with changing fret 2 from f2 to 2
i changed all of player 2's controls and it still cancels it
Edit: NVM got it fixed, but does the fretboard slowing down trip anyone else out?

I have a really hard time with timing. i'm used with new FoF vanilla.
And which settings should I use for HOPO? It is al new to me.
How many times does he have to say that this Beta is for people who are used to RF 3.5?
Sorry for asking stupid questions, but I am not very updated.
When or will RF-mod ever have similar timing as FoF 1.2?
Bite me buttocks.

Disable VBPM.
The fretboard speed changing is FoF code, not mine. I think it does it very poorly. One day I'll fix it to be more reasonable.
I only added code to disable it.

That's one of the points. FoF timing sucks.
If you want that sucky timing, then you leave the HOPO settings to FoF and not RF-mod in the settings.

First, I want to say thank you to Rogue-F. I've been using RF-mod since the very first version, and I believe this is the first post I've made regarding it...so thanks a ton.
The beta's been working really well for me, the few bugs I noticed were worked out in 4.08. However, with all the different notes and key packages that were included, I thought it would be a neat feature to be able to preview what the notes/keys will look like from the settings screen as opposed to having to load up a song and jump back and forth repeatedly. Thanks again, and I hope coding all this hasn't made you lose your love for FoF.

I'm not sure that can be done easily.
The mods directory isn't just about notes and keys so it's hard to display stuff. Also turning them on and off does not take effect until after you do apply changes (which restarts the game).

Thx u so much for your work Alex ! Me too I've been using RF-mod since the first version and this is the best mod ever for frets ! So, i didn't read these 20pages if my problem is already spotted, but in some GH songs (i didnt' try all since the v.4beta) the bass is not from the music I choose. For example if I choose 'police truck' I've a different bass playing ( of another song, i don't know wich), same for 'play with me', and i have no problem with the previous version of fof with rf-mod 3.5.
(sry for my english i'm french^^)

I don't think that's RF-mod. I think that's FoF-1.2.x and the mono bass tracks.
there's a rar of the fixed bass tracks in the forums

Yeah, I'm kind of glad there's finally a RF-Mod for the 451 version.
Few bugs I've found:
- Your readme reads about a "base_directory" option - the game in fact is looking for an "base_library" entry.
- The C++ crash bug is still present in your version. I've posted a (silly) workaround for this that works with RF-Mod 4, too: https://www.fretsonfire.org/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=3;t=8161
- If I'm using my original fretsonfire.ini the normal 451 version has created, I don't have HOPOs in RF-Mod, no matter what options I select. I have to delete fretsonfire.ini and let RF-Mod 4 create a new fretsonfire.ini to get those working again - this already seemed to have occured in RF-Mod 3.5 with me.
- The "Two chords only" option doesn't seem to work.
(plus, I don't like those really ugly white note-tops
)

But the search function does not work for me... how can I fix it? It says: " 'LibraryInfo' has no atribute 'artist "
It says so when i have the songs sorted by artist, and when i have title it just goes to the letter i wrote...
By default the 'jumpto' feature is active. Which will jump to the first instance of the letter you type.
The old FoF-1.2.X search/filter feature is available if you press '/' first.
The other error you are getting seems like you've got a bad song.ini somewhere.

Whoops, I did not update the readme that well. I'll correct that. base_directory was for 3.5. base_library is 4.0.

The crash is a FoF crash, not an RF-mod one. But if your workaround fixes it (and the stage drums svg is the problem) I can perhaps correct this in the code.

I'll try with a standard fretsonfire.ini to see if I can recreate the problem. My guess was tappable = false was in the original one.

It's working for me. Why do you say it's not working?

So use one of the many other provided notes.
