I've never encountered that. How exactly (ie. what input mode, what exact steps such as toggle the gem on, typing the text and hitting enter) are you authoring lyrics when this happens? What version of EOF are you using? Are you adding lyrics in order from earliest to latest, or do you sometimes go back and insert a new lyric to a place in the chart before another one is already defined?

Right mouse click where I want the lyric and the box pops up, type in what I want and press enter, and sometimes it happens, I don't do anything different whether it happens or not.
1.8, I just downloaded the most recent hotfix yesterday, and it has happened both before and after, so it's not exclusive to the previous or the current hotfix.
In order from beginning to end. I add the lyrics and line them up as I go, so I almost never backtrack to add new notes earlier in the song.

What input method are you using? You can verify this by opening File>Preferences>Preferences and checking the setting in the lower left corner of the dialog. Also please confirm the EOF version by opening Help>About.

Does it seem to matter what text you're entering? Do you happen to use a non English-US keyboard layout, use any special characters (ie. accented, extended ASCII or Unicode)?

Re: EOF 1.8RC11 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support
My keyboard is UK, and I haven't needed to use special characters or accents since this started.
It doesn't seem like it matters what I'm typing, as it's just random, I'm not certain though.
But it does seem to happen with two specific songs, as I started a new song to test along with various other in-progress songs and have not had the issue so far.
I don't see what could be causing this issue with these songs, but I can send files if needed.

Re: EOF 1.8RC11 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support
The problem seems to be fixed.
I made new folders for both songs and moved the files into them (same folder name, and the inner files like the midi and ini are untouched), and the problem is gone.
I have no idea what happened before but it's solved now.

That's odd. I guess we'll have to see if it happens again.

New hotfix is up. Non pro guitar specific changes are as follows:
Added a warning during startup if EOF is being run in Windows and is located within one of the "Program files" folders, as Windows has security mechanisms that will interfere with normal program behavior.

Improved the check that runs during normal save that warns about lyrics outside of lyric lines, which will now seek to the first offending lyric.

Hello Rayne!
Just wanted to inform you that the gh import of original console charts is broken.
.. i'm like the only one who uses this function it seems.
Just thought I'd bring it to attention.
ps..its not actual the r1337 hotfix...thats just the folder name. the help > about says "EOF v1.8RC11 (8-15-2016)"

It took a while doing binary testing of old EOF builds to track this down to the offending line of code that was added to the QB format GH import code nearly 1.5 years ago, but it's now fixed. Thanks!

Re: EOF 1.8RC11 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support
New hotfix is up. Non pro guitar specific changes are as follows:
*Fixed a bug with GH import that would prevent QB format charts from being imported.
*Improved GH import to suppress warnings about all off-beat time signature changes after the first offending one.
*Added a new GH3 MIDI variant written during MIDI export. This MIDI file is the same as the normal MIDI, but the forced HOPO marker is written with a length of 0 delta ticks instead of the full length of the affected note.
*Fixed a bug where setting an unsupported grid snap count (higher than 64) while grid lines were displayed could cause EOF to crash.
*Increased the maximum custom grid snap size to 96 and added 1/64 and 1/96 built-in grid snap sizes.

Re: EOF 1.8RC11 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support
First of all, thank you for making EOF and continuing to update it.
I have a request, which I hope will be simple enough.
Could you add 2/4 to the built-in time signatures?
I know it's not too much trouble the way it is, but considering how often 2/4 happens, at least in metal, it would be nice to just do a simple click as we can with the others.
