I only modified a bit the existing code because it was not respecting GH's hopos rules
it didn't turned out that bad but not always fully working with all songs..there is a problem with the hopo picking though...for some reason you cannot pick them (or you must pick them a bit before they pass on, it sucks a bit)...the fact that you cannot pick them made it impossible to restart playing during long hopo chains when you missed...I tried to fix this too but wasn't able, I'm not that good at python coding...so I just made it so you can just tap it anyway, even if you missed you don't have to pick again, you lose multiplier but at least you can restart in the middle of those long chains...but it's not perfect

I understand perfectly why you'd prefer to stay on the rf-mod 3.5, I can't wait for 4.0 to be released too, just that meanwhile I think I made 1.2.451 more playable..I play with 1.2.451 mainly because it runs like, 2 times better than 1.1.324 on my computer

That explains the weird HOPO. Now I gotta delete my fof.ini to get rid of the glow on my old version notes.
If you can read this then you've gone too far.

Is there anyway to just use the notes from this mod on FoF?

I figured out how to just used the sounds, and I have the notes aswell.. but they're colored fully instead of how u have em and u cant tell the diff b/t a HO and a PO because it covers it with the note color.

I also tried just copying the mod folder and putting it in the original FoF folder and that didn't work either, it had the same effect. Also, when i do that it makes the cassettes and cases as CDs and CD cases, and all my graphics are cassettes and Guitar Cases so trying to get rid of that aswell.

Edit - was able to get rid of the folder and cassette graphic changes, but still can't get the notes right, it still has the color shading that makes HO/PO non distinguishable. You can play them as HO/PO but it won't show the difference. If anyone knows how to fix this plz tell me.

Well, make sure you're using version 1.2.451 of Frets On Fire, and than overwrite the library.zip found in your data folder with the one I put in the .rar, the library overwrite is necessary to use the keys and notes with different colors

but if you have guitar folders, you must be using the rf-mod which works on 1.1.324, it won't work then

No I dont have the guitar folder, but all my graphics are for them.
The problem I'm getting is that if I replace my library.rar file it messes up all of my sogns HO/PO functionality. So what I was trying to do was make it so that I still have your note graphics without your HO/PO system where it just randomly gets rid of half my OH/PO's. Is there any file from the library.rar that i can isolate and put into the standard library.rar to make the note graphics work correctly?

Well, it's complicated, I don't know what would the result be but you can try this...I don't know what will be the result though so backup first:

Open your library.zip, delete the file named Guitar.pyo...open MY library.zip, extract the Guitar.pyo and put it in your library.zip

that's the main graphics object...

or else, if you only don't want the hopos, you can try to erase my Song.pyo and putting the one you'll find with the lyrics mod ( https://www.fretsonfire.org/cgi-bin....ry59682 )

The 2nd thing you told me to do worked, TY. Now to change the folder and cassette graphics all i have to do is replace cassette.dae and label.dae correct?
or actually do i have to replace something in library.rar to?

well, the hopos are really in the Song.pyo...and I don't remember if I changed anything else in it...but if you have the original instead of my modified one, you should really have the standard hopos

I'll se if I can get it to work ...

With the old HOPOs you couldn't play slow parts, with the new ones you can't play the really fast ones :p Man I wish there was some way to balance this :)

Holy cow Raph! This is great!
Lights are changing colors, speakers are 'beating' :)

But I get this with the colors and cant seem to get the 'white' in my notes or black in the keys.

Image

I just unzipped a copy of the 12451 version, so I'm using a 'virgin' install.
I also have the fretsonfire.ini moved into my game folder since I have multiple FOF's on my machine. (and not in my 'documents and settings')

Any ideas on the colors?

well, you also seem to have all the mesh displayed on the keys, have you replaced the original library.zip ? colors on the notes and keys are in coded in it (in Guitar.pyo)

This looks beautiful and the only reason I haven't installed it yet is that I was getting frequent C++ runtime errors when using 1.2.451 before and I had to switch back to the RFmod3.5 version. Does this do anything to fix those type of problems?
