History:

I've started this mod several years ago (it was not Metallica based)
The original mod is 1080p and high quality. I've stretch down to 1280x960 to keep aspect ratio in fofix menus/game.


I've named this mod like this, because it was supposed to be realeased with the Metallica - Orgullo, Pasion Y Gloria (Live) album.
And I've though it would be easy to copy/paste and resync the guitar hero Metallica .mids with the .oggs of the live show.
I've import the mids but It's not easy to sync the songs...

The state bar under the frets is from Fatdog ( I felt in love with his work, I have to ask him the permission to use this one in the public release but as it uses it in Phase shift i don't think he want to
see it used elsewhere so it will probably not be included.)


As you can see almost everything is custom in this mod.
The multiplier uses the real band instruments and when you uses the starpower you'll have the skull and the dedicated instruments of the band.

Some little things needs a little more polish like starpower color and neck, menus enhancements..

I like the way the flammes are comming out of the skulls, St anger deserves a better matching "Background Necks"
but you can use it with your "normal" favorites necks




To make those animated necks working you must:


Save your original center_lines.png in your theme/"name_of_your_used_theme" directory

and use mine instead.

Put "fneckt**" in your neck directory



run Fofix and configure:

Static Strings= No (in the Fofix options)

and choose fneckt** (in the Fofix choose neck options)

Rosewood Necks with Metallica inlays (Aluminium, clear Wood, Celluloid and Gold)
some inlays are taken from the Kirk Hammett or James Hetfield guitars..

I did..not sure what you meant by animated..I take it you just mean the chain moving in a repeating style. The neck however is rather...bright? Light? some word, makes it harder to see the notes...I am using Kids RB2 theme.

Just watching your video preview of gameplay...the neck looks cool, kind of 3d'ish.,,notes still blend into it a tad though. I must say though, this is rather up there at the top in the Band related themes.
Good job dude, most people would just splatter background images of a band/title then rather actually customize it.

The RB notes could be harder to see due to they size, i agree. The Neck should render far better than in the video on your computer.
It's important to use the 2 files i've provide. They are rendered on 2 levels moving at a different speed giving a realism impression.

I am using FoFiX 3.121 Final (py2.6 ogl3) and they play at the same speed. =S Installed both files.

First thing I thought as I entered this thread was: Not another Metallica-based hero, until I came in and saw that this was actually a theme, as well as the story behind it

I like how you did a lot of the design yourself, though I agree with Bluzer that the notes with the fire neck (as well as the text on the menus) blend in a little bit too much. I'd say play around with the contrast a little more, top it all off with some more fitting notes, and you have up-and-coming Metallica-based awesomeness!

For dadudemandude and bluzer:

1 - try with a darker background to fix the color issue (i'm almost sure it's comming from here)
i've remove all black and keep transparency with the background like real fire.

Bluzer I'm using fofix 3.12 too try these settings:

in the display settings/fretboard settings/ neck transparency (everything 100%)
/ Board speed percent = 100
/ Board speed Mode = BPM & Diff
/ Frets under notes = Yes
/ Inc Neck = Start End

As this mod is based on GH 3 maybe some options could be "Theme locked" in RB Based Themes.
If all the above settings are the same as yours try to change the Board speed percent = 80 maybe..

I've just seen the animated necks are made for GUITAR PART as it replace the original guitar strings layout.
(sorry i almost never play drum).
But if drummer is interrested into testing animated necks let me know and i'll do them too.

very cool, i really like how you used the mult image. also the rock meter and splights are sweet. quite creative and good looking. haven't downloaded yet but in the vid there is a static image on the fretboard of fatdogs mult/meter thing, since it's a static image why not change it some to fit the theme better?
anyway, very nice job :)
