Forum Is Running Extremely Slow!

I happened to visit yesterday and I noticed that it was taking quite some time to open just a small little thread in the forum, today it looked better when I tried to check one of my new themes and it took over two minutes then it gave me both of these messages.

I'm guessing the server had timed out or was running slow because my connection is fairly fast. Any idea why its running so slow?

Not sure. I've gotten a few 500 Internal server errors about a week ago as well.

Dang. Last time the forum was being this bad was about a year ago. I then purged a bunch of old, unused accounts and performance improved. I did this again over this past weekend, but things are still pretty lousy apparently. I'll look into it more when I can...

I've seen it come and go. Usually if I try to reload forum pages a few minutes later it works fine.

Yeah, it just happened again. But I'm glad its not just me whose having these issues. Refreshing it a few times does seem to solve it for a few minutes. Another thing I wanna point out is the two screens have different error codes, 500 and 503. And thanks nwru for trying to get this fixed!

Sometimes I can't even get a page to load. I'll be making a longer post and I'll lose it when I submit. Now I copy it before I submit because I'm afraid I'm going to lose it (especially for extremely longer posts). Also @ nwru, thx for looking into this. Hope you can get it resovled on a reasonable matter of time.
