I really don't see any cons to making a group of members janitors. I can just about guarantee that it won't be abused. I mean really, let's be serious here. It should be pretty obvious who is going to run rampant with such an ability so you obviously wouldn't pick someone like that in the first place. Plus, if you only allow them to move it to a hidden forum as raptor suggested, then it's both unobtrusive and reviewable in the highly unlikely case that someone decides to abuse it.

I'm on a lot and more than most people as you've all seen. I'd do it also if it was cool with people. And like said above, abusers get revoked/suspended.

It's only spam. It's really not that difficult to ignore. Sure it's annoying and useless but so is a lot of the posts made by the users doing the complaining. Do you guys get this worked up when spam sneaks into your emails?

Also, please stop nominating yourselves for a position that doesn't even exist.

also, i don't think it's as much "self nomination" as it is letting people know they'd be available to help out if at all possible...

When I was moderating forums a while back we had the same problem, so they bumped a few of us up to global mods(we had a lot of "types" for moderators) and it worked out pretty well(I feel like I've told this story already here). It was pretty much the same as Rapt0rs idea except we already had the moderators, they just needed the proper permissions.

Also, I have less of a life then you Rap' lol, so if ruru decides to do this I wouldn't mind helping either.
