Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
I had some videos for some songs in their folders, and they worked fine. I converted them to a different format and size though, and now the converted versions don't show up in game(it replaces them with a static stage).
Here's a picture of one of the folders with a converted video in it, and it's song.ini open:

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
almost certain its a codec issue
http://www.any-video-converter.com/prod ... ideo_free/
use that converter with the Xvid codec and it never fails

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
That's the thing though, the video isn't broken, it's phase shift changing it out. I have the latest k-lite codec pack installed, and every video was playing fine when I first put them in there. Now when I changed them out, they got replaced as if there is no video in the folder, not broken(I've seen what a broken video looks like in PS).
The default PS video background plays fine, and it has the same encoding as my new videos.
P.S. Why doesn't the background get switched out with the default video stage(when no video is present in the song folder), instead of the static one?

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
I have a litle problem with Starpower/Overdrive/PS, is TOO bright, sometimes does not let me clearly see the notes im suposed to play,it gets worse when is SP activated and white notes blend with the bright of the SP making them very dificult to spot sometimes.....can the glow be a litle less bright?or golden perhaps :p?
Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
You can deal with the pngs manually. Dont expect them to change it anytime son though.

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
OK, here's a little update to let you know where I'm at:
I've mannaged to get hold of a new RB3 Pro guitar and have worked out the basics of the signals it sends. However, there is an issue that is causing problems. The Xbox 360 Controllers under DirectInput binds the left and right trigger buttons into a combinded axis. As such the trigger button data will become lost when both left and right triggered are active at the same time. This was never a problem with the basic controllers as these axis were hardly used. However, this is a deal breaker when it comes to the Pro Mustang Guitars as it's needed for fret button signals.
So, what am I going to do about this you ask? Well, I have 2 Options.
Option 1: Require that users install a third-party game controller driver which tricks DirectInput into thinking it's a different controller and as such not combining the trigger buttons.
Now this is a real pain to do and also I'm not 100% sure how this might effect other applications so you can understand I'm not keen on doing this.
Options 2: Use XInput instead of DirectInput.
This does seems like the more workable option but it comes with a limitation.
XInput only supports up to 4 Xbox controllers at one time, spoiling the day when it comes to unlimited players.
Allthough this will only effect 360 controllers it's still a real punch in the face for our vision for the game.
I'm still investigating a third option but right now I'm leaning towards the XInput route.
I'll keep you all posted.
Thanks
David

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
Just another point:
It should be possible to have an option to enable/disable XInput so that if you are not planning on using the PRO guitars you can disable it allowing unlimited 360 non-pro guitars.

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
well if nothing perfect can be worked out then maybe you can make both those options available and leave it up to the player to decide which to choose.. that way if they have problems with the third-party controller driver then they could use Xinput and if they want to play with more than 4 people and dont have a problem with the third-party option then that could also be available.. i understand thats a bit of work though :/

Is it possible to have Phase Shift use Xinput for some controllers and DirectInput for others?

I can have it so that you are limited to 4 Xbox controllers but you can still have unlimited non-xbox controllers running side by side. What I can't do is just pick the XBOX controllers I want to use for XInput and the ones I don't. The Xinput system disregards all controllers after the 4th detected. I can't choose which ones are used with XInput and which one are not. It might be possible if you make sure that the ones you want to be used via XInput are the first 4 that you connected. But this will cause problems if one gets disconnected as it would confuse everything. I have to say I'm not a fan at all of XInput, it's not very customizable. It's designed to be easy to use but it's not at all usefull for more advanced features. I'm still trying to figure out a way arround all this but it looks like from all that I'm reading Microsoft have made it like this on purpose to allow easy porting to the XBOX.
Thanks

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
That sucks. I don't recall if Phase Shift supports MIDI devices, but if so, it might work around the frets issue (even though some things like tilt and the navigation buttons wouldn't be detectable).

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
this is alittle off topic but this is driving me nuts.. why does phaseshift crash when i try to run it via batch file with high priority?
hers the .bat file:
http://www.mediafire.com/?i5e9hx0o72yzoz9
the game is installed here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Phase Shift
and I named the .exe "Phase_Shift.exe"
am I doing something wrong or is there just some kind of code thats screwing this up.. and if theres some kin of code... is there anyway to fix it... this worked fine until the later releases
thanks

Man I seriously have no idea what is going on now. After trying many different conversions of the videos, I tried putting back the original unconverted videos, and now even those don't work(and yes I made sure to change the name back in the song.ini) :( .

Somebody on the Rock Band forum referred me to a picture of the supposed touch strip:
http://www.madcatz.com/e3/images/hires/ ... _ps3_1.jpg
I can confirm that this touch strip does not exist on the Xbox 360 version of the Mustang. I posted asking for confirmation if the Mustang for the other consoles has it, but it's looking like a feature that they removed before they shipped the product, which is a shame.
