Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
I don't understand what you're talking about Amak. It's not a rendering issue...In Rock Band and Phase Shift, HOPOs after chords ONLY occur when that note is NOT in the chord itself. In the RB example, G, Y or O can be HOPO. R or B cannot, UNLESS HOPO is forced on in the chart. FoF/FoFiX and the Guitar Hero series has implemented HOPO so that you can pull off from a chord to a note. In that case, the lower note of the chord can be HOPO along with the notes that are not in the chord. In the RB example, G, R, Y and O would be HOPO but B would not unless forced on.

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
from what i understood it was a display issue. But your logic may be wrong about RB. if you could audition a song you'd understand what i mean when i say "Base RB is just like GH2, if not equvilent".

Watch the RB chart of Alive by Pearl Jam, in RB, and tell me I'm wrong.

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
Ill do some digging myself, its not that i dont trust your answer, but i swear i CAN pull off a lower note As it doesnt take much to force off those notes.

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
i feel it would be more correct to make you strum notes that are included in your chord, if directly following said chord..... but all of this discussion doesn't help me any, lol, i still have an issue with about every 3rd 12th note i fretted needing to be strummmed when it should not be..... still hoping for help on this.....

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
I agree. If the the following note is with said chord, it should be strummed, unless forced otherwise. If its not in the chord, by all means let it be and HO/PO unless forced off. I have no idea how it can be a rendering issue...

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
Well, if PS follows the RB guidelines, then it's ok this way. But I thought it was wrong because GH3 and FoFiX allow them by default.
Can we have an alternative way of dealing with such note patterns? Like a "sloppy" mode or something.
BTW it gets annoying at the intro of The S Lot (PNCU Hero), the tapped chords Y,B are followed by a strummed yellow note and it gets really tricky.
EDIT: Here is Nottingham Lace in FoFiX, Feedback and PS. GH3 shows the exact same hopos as FoFiX:

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
last suggestion/request for a while i think.... but when you pick a song, is there a way to make it so that the note highway runs for a little bit before getting right into the song?? lots of songs start immidiately when you press play, and this causes you to miss notes at the very start of the song.... ex.) | | | | | | | |<---bpm line that starts the song (the ones before are filler so you can get ready and see the first notes come towards you)..... any thoughts??

It's been suggested before, and they said it wouldn't be fair to songs that are already set up to be like that. Like if a song already had a 10 second delay at the start, and they add another 10 seconds, then that'd be 20 seconds you'd have to wait(I'm a math wiz ^_^).

so make it even two seconds long.... but it's kinda unrealistic to make it so you HAVE TO miss the first notes on some songs.... an extra two, or even five seconds would not be any kind of issue.... but yes, excellent math =]

I actually haven't had any problem with this, unless I just wasn't paying attention, but maybe that's just me *shrugs*.kamakazikilla wrote:but it's kinda unrealistic to make it so you HAVE TO miss the first notes on some songs
Anyways, I'll let them answer that, maybe they'll change their minds :).

haha, it happened to me twice earlier this evening.... maybe i'm just that unlucky that it seems common??? either way, i hope that'd get looked at, as well as my 12th note issues....

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
The best song to prove such issue is Master Exploder by kotti.
How about some kind of tweak inside the game, so that PS detects how quick the first notes come, and then add the filler bpms. This seems fair to me, instead of bloating the song.ini any further.

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
That seems to be the best suggestion to work around it so far. If the first playable note is less than a couple seconds, PS could have a count down leading into the start of the chart's playback.
