Lol he's not even trying to FC it :P

@Maddog: When I play older PH songs such as from PH4, the game shows small tails after non-hopo notes. This is reaaaally anoying and kinda makes the game harder because of visibility. IDK if it has been sorted out yet.

Well I'm not sure what the standard is for the minimum size a tail can be. It looks like I have it set to a quarter note at the moment which I guess seems like the most logical. If anyone can show me some documentaiton stating the RB standard is different I'll change it.

Thanks

I managed to get one of the keyboards. Hooking it up to my PC with the receiver, velocity is tracked as an X axis, but Windows and XPadder aren't showing me how the individual keys are being detected (although sometimes one of the keys will trigger movement on the Z Axis). The other buttons are typical (A,B,X,Y,Back and Start are buttons) and the DPad is a POV Hat.

Hmm, interresting. Are you sure that axis isn't another axis or something?

Thanks

I couldn't tell you. The Windows controller applet only lists one single X, Y and Z axis (I've only ever seen it list one each for a single controller, maybe it cannot display more than that). If you can recommend a more suitable utility for enumerating the control signals for each key, the overdrive button and the modulation strip, let me know and I'll give it a try.

Is this an Xbox Keyboard?
If so I was wondering if the extra notes are only accessible using some low level xinput code. I'm currently using direct input but I'm thinking of having both running side by side as this might be needed for the new controllers.
It might work on the same system that the optional gamepad 'qwerty' keyboard works for the xbox as that is only accessible from X Input.

Thanks
David

I'd be amazed if you got a usefull reply!

As will I. If you end up making a new controller profile utility, I'll give it a try to see if it can read any of the keys or gather any other useful information about the controller (ie. number of hats, axes, buttons). I'm going to be looking to pick up a Mustang controller when they become available, so I can help profile that at such a time.

T3HM3T4L:I've tried to sign up for Rock Band but they just won't allow me. They keep complaining I have to 'be over 18' while I've already been 18 for over half a year, and a sign up where I noted I was born in the '50s STILL GAVE ME THAT MESSAGE

So if anyone could help me get these templates, I'd very much appreciate it. I need it to edit notes and stuff for my Rock Band 2.

aander91:Sorry, but that'd be providing for minors, which is illegal.

T3HM3T4L:But I'm 18 years old... ?

aander91:Nope. Sorry.

T3HM3T4L:Nono, you're getting me wrong, I was asking how come I am still considered a minor?

aander91:Look, we can't just go out giving these things away to people who just say they're over 18 and show no proof, we'd be out of a job.

T3HM3T4L:Nevermind, I'll use EoF for it, I found the way I could use it for that.

alright.... the only other thing relating to HOPOs is that when i made a custom song using 12th notes.... only some are HOPOs, while others are not for no apparent reason... is there any reason for this? i thought maybe i did a bad fret job on the song, so i redid it, and did a much better job, and i still sadly got the same result when playing on PS....

Yeah, and some hopos after chords are screwed. For example, if the last chord was R,B and the next note is red, it wont be hopo, but if instead of red it was yellor or green (basically any color other than red) it is hopo.

Some songs where this bug becomes a bit annoying are Nottingham Lace, Over the Mountain (PHZ) and Dead Art in Plainfied (Void).

I've got feeling that FOF gets this wrong and the way PS does it is the correct way. There are a few MIDIs where HOPO's after chords don't show up correctly in FOF but do in PS compared to RB.

Phase Shift's way is correct. Watch a video of Alive by Pearl Jam then play it in Phase Shift: you'll see that the HOPOs after the chords all appear correctly.

This is actually a rendering issue surprisingly. When a computer cant keep up it will display a "filler". If we are speaking about fofix, then yes FoF does it correct aswell. The note will still hopo normally.
