Asskickulater wrote:i agree that RB3's chords are kind of... eh... i personally think they could be better, maybe you guys will get what Im looking for (btw I dont really know what it is Im looking for with chords so dont ask.. lol)

also... just a heads up there is a bug where if you set the background to the stage without turning off the video background override option the game crashes when you try and launch a song

I'm not having this problem, but it might be because I've changed a load of code since the last version and I've fixed it already.

I'll double check though
Thanks

It's hard to say as right now as I've been re-writing huge sections of code and broken parts of the game in the proccess. I'm working my way through these problems but making new ones as I add more RB3 Support. I'll try and get a bug fix release out when I get the major bits back together.

Thanks

At least this way you are also learning a skill for the real world. However, we may change our minds when we play the game, their system might be ace!

Thanks
David

I saw a pre-release video for RB3 that said you can turn on a modifier that shows the actual numbers in the chord, in addition to their chord shape graphics. Also I believe RB3 has text floating off to the left of chords that actually tell the chord name, which is also useful in a way for learning real guitar skills.

T3HM3T4L:I've tried to sign up for Rock Band but they just won't allow me. They keep complaining I have to 'be over 18' while I've already been 18 for over half a year, and a sign up where I noted I was born in the '50s STILL GAVE ME THAT MESSAGE

So if anyone could help me get these templates, I'd very much appreciate it. I need it to edit notes and stuff for my Rock Band 2.

aander91:Sorry, but that'd be providing for minors, which is illegal.

T3HM3T4L:But I'm 18 years old... ?

aander91:Nope. Sorry.

T3HM3T4L:Nono, you're getting me wrong, I was asking how come I am still considered a minor?

aander91:Look, we can't just go out giving these things away to people who just say they're over 18 and show no proof, we'd be out of a job.

T3HM3T4L:Nevermind, I'll use EoF for it, I found the way I could use it for that.

Compatibility with DTX files...awesome. Questions;

Will we be able to make the fretboard flat, like DTXMania is? So if we are used to playing that game we can get the same view?

Will the lanes be customizable? ie, can I move the snare all the way to the right? Is the bass pedal flat across the board or does it have its own square like DTXMania? Will this be an option to choose between? Will the RB3 pro drum view be considered?

Thanks! Looking forward to more development

We are looking to encompass all the supported formats/games into a single layout to keep the feel of the game consistant regardless of what chart you are using. We are going to allow you to move the lanes about and control the alternating lane size shown in the Drum lane Image/Video. We have a System to allow different camera angle which allows you to pick almost the same view as DTXMania. The bass pedal in a lane is unlikely but hasn't been rulled out.

Thanks

I know you're being bombarded with requests, but one neat feature might be to consider the ability to have pro guitar/bass charts scroll right to left (possibly taking up the top/bottom half of the screen). It would like playing scrolling guitar tablature, which would be pretty cool.

This has been on my mind as we at some point are going to have to work on vocal support and it would be a good idea to also allow other instruments to use the same layout.

Now that you mention it, how's vocals implementation going?
The only game I've seen with "working" vocals on a PC is World Tour. I know FoFiX has vocals but they're basically unplayable.

ya know perfection cant be rushed in either FoFix or Phase Shift. Tho if it were i coding this game, vocals, hell even harmonies would have been priority over pro instruments. But thats just me. whatever Kiwi and fatdog do, its their own business and how they run it is up to them.
