All the Metallica, Megadeth, Maiden, and Slayer are originals. The year on the shirts was the year they were purchased.
All of the originals were handed down to me by my stepmom lol

Re: Band Shirts You Own
Misprint Killemall/ride the lightning (very **** rare)
99% sure this is a bootleg
srsly the REAL kill em all tour shirts are basically non-existant at this point (they are generally metal up your ass shirts)
the fact that a kill em all shirt has ride the lightning on the back should be enough proof it's not worth anything or from 83 at the least.

It was purchased at a Metallica concert in 83 so it may be that 1%

Re: Band Shirts You Own
how the hell would you get a shirt with ride the lightning on it in 83
thing is they are still selling these shirts, they're everywhere, they are certainly not tour shirts

idunnolol Let me check the year on it.
Crap, its faded.
The one like it now has the Kill Em All on the front and the dude on the electric chair on the back.
This one is the opposite. Its not truly a misprint, but its weird to have something Ride The Lightning related on a Kill Em All shirt.

Re: Band Shirts You Own
I've seen only one before. My friends dad is a die-hard Metallica fan and has it. When I saw your post I texted her and asked for the year. It's 1983, the latter half of the year. They mis-printed about 130-150 copies of that shirt and sold them off at Metallicas last show before heading to the studio for Ride the Lightning. She said her dad said that the cover for the new album got accidentily put on the shirt and Elektra sued the company (this is what she said he said). IDK how true this is, but coming from someone who was in the studio when Lars **** up the drums for Hit the Lights I think is correct.

if it's this one then it's bootleg and not from 83 for sure, even if it's a misprint. this shirt was never around until far past 83, like 85-89 maybe. earliest I can find is 1999
beyond that slashfan's story can't be true because album art for albums are always done after the album itself is finished, not WAY before. RTL was recorded in winter 84 and not even released until the summer of said year. it's just not possible.

THIS is the kill em all tour tshirt
Also remember that the guy in the electric chair isn't even the real cover of RTL

here we have a REAL RTL shirt

side note I bought a souls of black testament shirt with the 2008 tour dates for $12
