You can just stick the song in your songs folder then test it....

Also, EOF seems to be crashing a lot. Just when I'm moving anchors around...

Yes but you can link it to FoF and with the click of a button EOF boots FoFiX and you play your song.

I couldn't get mine to start up FoFIX. Whenever I set it up it wouldn't start up fofix but it would automatically put my current song folder in my fof songs folder. It just won't start up when I click test in fof.

Yeah, 2 months ago already:

Yeah for me it doesnt even open FoFix at all when i link it to 3.120, with 3.100 however, it works (guess because the exe is called FretsOnFire.exe and not FoFiX.exe, dont wanna mess around with renaming it :P).

As quoted, with 3.100 it still works, thats why i still have it on my old comp to directly teest it...Pity that this nice feature is broken in recent versions, tho.

Will harmonies ever be implemented into EOF?

It's been thought about, and should be able to be implemented, but unless FoF or one of the other clones supports it (let alone properly supporting a single vocal track), it's probably not going to be useful. Unless maybe more people begin looking into using EOF to chart for RBN? There are still some details that aren't baked into EOF enough to make it preferable over Reaper for RBN charting (like all of the dozens of pre-defined text events, wave form graphs, simultaneous multi-audiotrack support, etc). Not even any of the other karaoke games I've seen actually support multiple vocal tracks. One of the UltraStars has an unofficial mod to support 2 players or something, but it's not in the official release.

Honestly I'd rather chart a song in EOF than Reaper any day. Now if only the transfer over to a rba. wasn't as difficult...

I might've posted this before, but have you guys considered adding a visual representation of the song into EoF? Like behind the horizontal fret board? If you had masters, or even if you separated it well, you could sync certain songs without even hearing it! Also, will slowing down the audio without bending the pitch ever be made available? Audacity supports it, but it'd be nice to have everything in one place. :)

I don't know how to programatically create a wave graph for audio, if anybody has info, it'd help if they sent it our way. As far as manipulating audio tempo (changing speed without changing pitch), I don't recall there being a way to do it that doesn't cause distorted audio. Anything besides a relatively small adjustment will make the audio strangely choppy. Playing the audio at a different sample rate is probably the easiest way to go.

You can do it in Audacity. I've used it quite a bit, it's still good quality.

OH, that. Still, I've never found it to be a problem. Makes it easy to catch the small things while still maintaining a hearable pitch. With the current system, 50% is almost useless unless you're listening to a solo in the higher register.
