I recall seeing EOF as a seperate sound thing on the master volume control thing.

Thought so!
EDIT: Owait... is the master volume the same as the sound mixer? :o

I haven't touched a GH related game for 6 months. Woo. My (dead) song thread: Contains horrible things.

I should still have my 8.10 CD... somewhere. And if you've seen my room, you know what a problem it is if I can't immediately point to at least the general area it should be in. Having already had a look for the CD once, it's probably not where it should be.
Other than that, all I've got are my Windows CDs that won't install -_-
EDIT: Also, if it was the OS having issues with my hardware... why is *everything* else using sound fine?

I don't know what that is all about.. All I can guess is your OS (Windows 7?) is allowing you to control the volume on a per-application level.

I suggested Allegro could be having problems with either your OS or your hardware, not that your OS was having problems with your hardware.
Re: EOF 1.65 (Updated 5/29/2010)
Ah. Well, given EOF didn't give this error before I upgraded, I'm gonna go with OS. My hardware hasn't changed.

Do you happen to know how the audio driver is different since the upgrade? It's not using a proprietary audio driver or anything is it?

Probably. At least try to confirm for us if Windows shows the headphones as a separate audio output device so I can make sure that's actually what's going on. The immediate fix would be to use regular headphones (ie. 1/8 inch mini stereo).

Its in the first post. How come you didn't see it? EOF never had any installers, its always compressed as an archive.

Errrrrrr. I need version 1.6 lol. I'm having compatibility issues with a mac user (I use 1.65 and he uses 1.6, as that is the latest available for mac).

Yeah, I think that confirms the suspicion. Your headphones are manufactured by "C-media", right?

Here's version 1.6:

We haven't seen trinidude at the forums for a while. If anybody knows somebody else that can compile software for Mac (and preferably provide support for the Mac users), we may be able to get a newer Mac version released.
