No. Well, this version is best played using Python 2.6 + OGL 3. Because this version has disabled pyOpenGL error checking which made the game have a big performance boost. So, its just performance boost update.

And the boost is pretty important! I'm gaining around 10 more FPS now, thanks a lot! Kudos to the devs!

py2.6 runs perfect in Win7

Postby air15 » Mon Dec 07, 2009 3:22 pm

It's true. I used FoFiX 3.120 py2.4 because 2.6 have a lot of LAG.
But now I can use FoFiX 3.121 py2.6 and no LAG, runs smoothly

Thx to Team FoFiX :2thumbsup:

Pentium D 2.8Ghz, 3GB RAM, ATI x1550 in Windows 7 (x86)

Edit: 3.121 :p

My computer only has a 512MB video card that supports OpenGL 2. Is there a chance of a py2.6/OGL2 combo in the future?

I haven't had that much problems with 3.120 py2.4, but even then I notice that this version runs more smoothly.

Great job guys!

Hello,

PERFECT Work - performance difference:

4 player : 2x guitar, 1x drum, 1x microphone
1920x1080, full effects, GH3 Theme

3.120: 6-8 frames
3.121: 24-28 frames

This release ROCKS!!!

Thanks,

Yea the vocals aren't terrible but most of the time the mic doesn't work properly and they seem to be a little bit above where the line is but on the other hand the look perfect and it isn't too bad and the only song I can do is ghost busters on lego rockband >.<

3.120final - 75FPS CONSTANTLY
3.121 - 40-50fps with same settings

sorry but this new version is fail.
less working on crap "updates" more on to the online play.

EDIT: the only speed increase i seen was with the fretboard... playing style which my pc is more then capable of playing this lose 25+ frames while playing this is exile (only song i tested for the blast beats which FPS is important at something like that)
this is not a good update and im sure the communty would rather you guys putting things that arent in the game (like online play!!!!) then messing around with things that make game play worse

Firstly, they ARE putting their time into putting in things that aren't in the game. They just backported some of the performance fixes which for everyone but you has increased the performance.
Secondly. DO NOT DEMAND FEATURES. Online play will probably come at some point in the future, but you know what's going to make online play really crap? LOW FPS OF YOU AND/OR YOUR OPPONENT. Now considering most people are getting less lag now, that's an important step towards online play, wouldn't you say?
Or would you prefer an online play where all your opponents have low FPS, which gives YOU more lag to the point of unplayability?

--- EDIT ---
Also,

pyOpenGL version != openGL version. I believe pyOpenGL 3 still supports OpenGL 2

Thank you, I saw a big performance change on FoFix with the highest settings (using py2.6)
3.120---25 fps
3.121---40 fps
