(50 cents to $3 per song)

I don't understand why we can't pick the price of 0$.

Massive problem #1: If they assume people can chart their own songs, they're in deep s***.

Massive problem #2: There'd better be A TON of people testing the songs, because there will be A TON of songs coming their way. That's something I know from experience. If "other developers" means other people doing songs, they're in deep s***. In which they are anyway.

Yes, they did mention both of those problems (noticed after typing myself), but based on that, they're really underestimating how huge obstacles there are on the way. It's a great idea, but I can't see a way it could work properly.

Because they need something to take the 30% from.

Rather than deal with Harmonix directly, artists and labels will submit songs to a community of Harmonix-trained freelance game developers and other interested programmers who will prepare the tracks for "Rock Band." Additionally, labels can either hire trained developers or school their existing employees to do the work in-house.

I'm assuming this means harmonix does the charting too

This sounds cool, although it'd be better if the songs could be release for free

Can I have a source to that first quote aduro?

From what I understood, Harmonix is handing the tools to people who are somewhat noobs to charting, but have been tought how the tools work. That sounds like a bad deal to me. The reason why Harmonix can make so good charts is simply experience. They have people working who have made loads of charts and learned when making them (just compare GH1 and RB2 charts). Problem is, that even if these experienced guys can teach the newbies the basics, but they will still lack the experience. The fact is, in the world there are not that many charters who can make charts that are even close to being equal to Harmonix's charts and most likely none of them will be working with this project.

It's like releasing a puzzle game and saying "hey community, do the content yourself". Surely someone can make fun and interesting puzzles, but 99% of them are bound to suck.

Freelancer charting sounds really awesome. I hope that means they'll be hiring XD

Also I think we might be able to submit a Vai original song lol

Not sure why you wouldn't, it was a lot of fun. And I'm a major critic of Neverionvisionox.

This may be a reason why to close it.
Alright so the rockband network
oh man what a crazy idea
so what does it mean? What it means is for one I might get that Made in Mexico full album DLC I wanted.

Btw, that's not Doc.
