FoFiX 3.120 beta 2 (py 2.4 gl2)

Hard to reproduce since I don't know yet what trigger the bug. At the end of a song, before the score board appears, I get a "Loading Error" and a "OK". When hitting return to select "OK", the screen goes blank. Only way out is to terminate FoFiX.

Hey, just wanted to express my appreciation for all of the FoFiX dev team. You guys have done a wonderful job on this, and made FoF a real pleasure to play. Can't thank you guys enough.

I've made a few new issues, but by no means are these demands, just suggestions! I don't want you guys to feel overwhelmed by the demand of new features when you've already done a magnificent job. And this isn't a reminder to go read my submitted issues either. Get to them in your own time.

Again, thanks so much for making FoF what it is today! The new version is great!

I agree!

This game is extremely fun, AND smooth indeed. Everything works perfectly fine on my PC, no errors or anything bad. ^_^

Amazing stuff...

Great job with the release, but as I think it was Parimba said a while back, he had problems with the microphone being a disabled controller still, I have had the problem too and even in the new release. Everything (Including PyAudio / PyPitch or whichever it is) is installed that needs to be, but yet when going to choose the microphone as an instrument the controller is disabled, yet it can still be selected and then after a song is chosen it gets stuck at initializing... probably because the controller is disabled

The shaders not only work with py 2.4 but they run smooth as all hell, what gives? Is this is the same with the 2.6 build?
edit: Advertise that shaders work in 2.4 mode because they do infact work, haven't tested all of them, but the eq thing, the board colors, and the rb tails work, and I have really good performance, i'll even post screenshots if i have to.

edit: it seems starting a mulit-game in Rb mode lands to an index out of range error. Fofix mode multiplayer works fine though.

Code: Select all

(D) Pause text / selected hex colors: #FFFFFF / #FFBF00
(D) Pause text / selected colors: (1.0, 1.0, 1.0) / (1.0, 0.74901960784313726, 0.0)
(D) View: Pop: Menu
(D) View: Pop: LoadingSplashScreen
(D) 6 phrases taught.
(D) Learned about World.EnterScene, 6 phrases now known.
(D) View: Push: GuitarSceneClient
(D) View: Push: GuitarSceneClient
(E) Loading error: Traceback (most recent call last):
File "GameEngine.pyo", line 998, in main
File "Engine.pyo", line 136, in run
File "Engine.pyo", line 124, in _runTask
File "GuitarScene.pyo", line 4340, in run
File "GuitarScene.pyo", line 3334, in handleAnalogSP
IndexError: list index out of range

a little debugging reveals its because of the fact that analog sp is on. works fine if analog sp is off.

bug listed above has been noted as Issue 879.

Also, unlike the alpha versions i've used, the eq lightning thing that floats above is too big now and cuts into the rb score meter.

What theme are you using? You need to have the correct graphics in the vocals folder for vocals to work. If it's happening on Megalight, double check if there's a vocals folder in the theme.
But you definitely shouldn't be able to select and continue with it if it's disabled... That's an important bug.

You can play without shaders in FOFix 3.120
You dont have to active them, and vocals 4 players and Guittar Battles will be there too.

Gugered wrote:On python version 2.6 for mac beta release 2 3.120 (SVN r.1740) there is an eror that says:

I don't know if the error is showing for me only, but can you please tell me what to do?
However 2.5 works.
By the way great job.

I'll look into it, but I'm not getting that error. I do have PIL installed. Anyone else using the Mac python 2.6 version getting this error?

I want to thank the devs for doing a great job.
I gave up testing @ r1500 because so much needed fixing.
I use minimem 1.2.2 with latest revision & py 2.4...it's fantastic.

this is not related to the latest release but its in general

could someone explaine me how hopos can be strummed? it feels broken when i strum hopos, the hitwindow is going crazy. if there are sections in the song with a lot of strumming and between the strumming are hopos the hitwindow feels after you strummed the hopo strange, if you tap the hopo it works fine but if you try to strum the hopos i usually loose a lot of notes a lot of notes in front of you disappears like the hitwindow would grow and sometimes the hitwindow changes to be tiny and you cant hit the notes right, the engine feels then broken. difficult to explaine

is it a special setting? because hopo and hitwindow that im using is standard. im playing with a xbox 360 gh2 xplorer guitar

I like the new features of Beta 2, and everything works okay, but there is a massive a/v delay. it can be up 5 seconds at times. I think the delay becomes even greater over time. This happens on windows vista 64bit, and i tried both python 2.4 and python 2.6. Another problem I am having is FoFiX is using 100% of a core on my computer. I thought that the minimum requirement was 1.0 ghz, and if that was correct, why is it using a full 2.33ghz. I think that there should be multi core support in the future. Any suggestions?
