FOFix 3.120 beta 1 /EOF test song feature

Postby amak11 » Fri May 22, 2009 10:09 pm

i have got an issue with the latest FOFix and EOF. I already reported the issue on Newcreatures thread. But pretty much it doesn't allow me to test the song, the game loads then starts looping main menu sounds. EOF needs a way to bypass these new features

Hmm... This used to work on FoFiX. I used it a while ago... Do you have any idea what version this started on?

I posted a comment in the EOF thread.

I think we ought to fix it ourselves rather than force EOF to try to tell the difference. (I'm not sure whether the other devs will agree with me, but that's what I think.)

And so have I.

Endlessly confirming that it actually does happen won't get us anywhere.

If all you have to add to the discussion is "me too," please don't post. If you can add something else, by all means do.

[checks whether there's an issue over on gcode]

Then why didn't you guys say something sooner? Maybe an issue on the issue tracker? Who knows, it could have been fixed by now.

Do you chart songs? If it's not big to you, it's big to me. The test song feature in EOF made it easy to test songs with out resorting to copy and paste then testing, thats five minutes that i can be prefecting a solo. It's inconvienient having to do all that.

Anyways back to the issue at hand. Is there a way that you guys can input an override code or perhaps a "link to EOF" feature. EOF has the same functionality in it's code with the "link to FOF" function

One of my ideas should work instead of reworking a bunch of code. Implementing one of them shouldn't be hard for the Devs

If I am not mistaken this problem occurred when the lobby menus were added.
The same thing happened when the Rock Band solo tour menu was added a while back.
EOF doesn't know how to get past those menu's is my guess.
Hope I'm not just stating previously known information.

The issue is with FoFiX. EOF has always used the same code for the song testing feature. Some recent change to FoFiX must be causing the game to get stuck in a loop when launching a song from the command line. I'm sure if you tried to play a song from one of the other programs that uses the command line launcher you would have the same issue. Basically, there is nothing I can do to get around the issue and even if there were I wouldn't do it because it is a bug in FoFiX which needs to be addressed.
