Visual C++ Runtime Library error :(

Postby hrkljus » Tue May 12, 2009 8:49 am

i keep getting this error when trying to start frets on fire:

Code: Select all

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
------
Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Frets on Fire\FretsOnFire.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

i have read each thread on the forum about this error and none of the solutions mentioned helped me

im using Frets On Fire 1.2.451 with RF mod 4.15, on windows

i tried downloading other versions and mods, but none of them helped
i tried the drums picture thing too, but it doesn't work either

turning off the firewall and anti-virus didnt help

my graphics card drivers are up 2 date, the color quality is set to 32 bit, i tried reinstalling the game a few times and restarting my computer, i dont have triple buffering turned on and it still doesnt work :(

my computer specs:

Try downloading the latest FoFiX.... Can be found here:

http://code.google.com/p/fofix/downloads/list

Additional themes for FoFiX (GH2, GH3, RB) can be found here:

heres the content of the fretsonfire.txt, i hope it helps:

Code: Select all

(D) Checking MIDI output ports for a wavetable or synth for sound generation...
(D) MIDI output port count = 1
(D) MIDI Output port 0 found: Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth
(D) GameEngine class init (GameEngine.py)...
(D) FoFiX v3.100 final starting up...
(D) pygame version: 1.7.1release
(D) Initializing audio.
(D) Audio configuration: (44100, -16, 1)
(D) Initializing pygame.mixer & audio system at 44100 Hz.
(D) Initializing video.

if this is some kind of a log, then frets on fire always stops while initializing video, if this always looks like this, sry for being noobish xD

Actually, that's not really noobish at all... I give you credit for actually looking for a fix to your problem before creating a new topic....

Anyways..... my only suggestion to you is to delete all versions of Frets On Fire you have and re-download the new FoFiX... if that doesn't work, I'm not exactly sure what would

Well I'm not exactly sure what the problem is but you should head over to the FoFiX site and talk to one of the developers about it or something... that's really strange cuz FoFiX isn't even notorious for having that problem..... Good luck and sorry I couldn't help more!

I'm having the same problem mentioned above with an identical log file readout. Any progress on a solution to the runtime kibraries problem?
