i was thinking, since there is a lot of people that use IM and FOF at the same time, that someone could make it so that when you pause, there could be a box for talking to people on msn/yahoo/aim etc. through fof? that would be sweet

an actual good idea, but would be VERY hard, Msn can be codded in python, but would have to be dug into FOF's system

Xfire has FoF support. No idea if it works with FoFiX though.

You can't use XFire with Frets On Fire nor FoFiX. There is an old one made by Divra. Not supported at all now.

Just get an IRC client like mIRC. It's a small download so it'll come down in about two minutes in Dial Up.

Im a frequent xfire user, I use xfire to talk to friends in FoF while playing the game, and i make my FoF videos with xfire video (which you can clearly see I use FoFiX for that)

Marvin and xbox are right. IRC also can connect to FoF so you can talk ingame.

IRC can NOT connecto to FoF. FoF as a game does not support any type of chat, howver external apps can be used like xfire, and irc clients (or any other IM I guess). I'm not on windows so I can't tell how well the xfire messege popups works in FoF.

In short there's no built in client, and I can't see how anyone would want to actually have to type messeges while playing (instant pause, write messege, wait for countdown and miss a note on that FC you were aiming for).
