OK, practice & starpower beat claps work in r647.

---- EDIT ----

Also, issue 405 appears to have been fixed in r647.

in the last fix 3.035 can someone redo the close note rendering order? You know... it's strange without that fix! is not too realistic... Thanks XD

Alright then, if "FoF offers difficulties based on notes in PART VOCALS" is not a bug that has been reported yet, will somebody please submit it as an official bug? I have not been involved in the alpha/beta testing so I don't know what else to do besides mention it here. But until the bug is fixed, which note numbers (in decimal please, not music notation such as c8) are safe to use for lyric creation that won't make FoF treat it as part of a difficulty?

Sure: issue 411. Feel free to leave comments and links in that issue for easy reference; I will look into that before final 3.035 release.

Thanks! I found my way to the Google Code site and was about to finish submitting a bug for this and I noticed you already did. In the mean time, which note number (decimal) should I use for the lyrics' Note On events so that the lyrics don't result in any non-existing difficulties being offered to the player?

I'd say keep putting the vocal notes where they belong for maximum future feature compatibility (I do plan to show a vocal track with notes and slides eventually...)

It will be fixed in code soon enough.

It'll be cool a vocal track to be added, just the notes, they musn't be played , it's enough just to be displayed..

It would be awesome if the arrow moved up and down to reflect edit: pitch specified in the midi. If you could confirm for me that note numbers 60 (inclusive) through 100 (inclusive) are used for Supaeasy, Easy, Medium and Amazing difficulties, I could write note numbers outside of this range, as I have not implemented pitch tracking in my program yet either.

According to a post on Scorehero:
http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/vie ... php?t=1711

Note numbers 36-95 in PART VOCALS track pitch. In addition, I noticed that the left->right scrolling lyrics don't show the duration of the sung syllable. If it's possible, could you add code to do something along the lines of showing a line that extends from the end of the lyric's text to the end of the lyric's duration, such as:

Be----hind-- blue-- eyes----

I don't know if that's what you meant by "slides", but if so, I apologize.

(calm down... not working on any vocal track support anytime soon...)

Progress on issue 275: Now 1/2 and 1/4 speed songs will play all the way through. Works great, sync is perfect, finally becoming a quasi-helpful mode in r650.

MI WANTZ SINGIN MIKROFONE    ... Lolz .. Kidding, it doesn't matter to me anyway , the lyrics are scrolling too fast so i can pay attention to them when i'm playing songs with fast bpm , so if the vocal track isn't playble it isn't mather if its there or it isn't... So I don't think you should bother with that for now..

I'm going to add functionality to my converter to group syllables of lyrics so that scrolling lyrics will display entire words instead of partial words. This ought to help the readability at least a little bit. MegaLight theme displays the scrolling lyrics in a really blurry fashion that makes it even harder yet to read.

By the way, can FoF be configured to display scrolling lyrics and subtitle lyrics at the same time if both are available?

Edit: Does the velocity defined in the lyric's Note On event have any influence over how the lyric is displayed?

Since you don't have the real notes for the vocal track, I think you should make your midi lyrics in the EVENTS part. Otherwise, your PART VOCALS will become unusable if that feature is added to FoFiX in the future. Another thought.

I highly doubt it. All the Rock Band midis I have seen store the lyric events in PART VOCALS just as I do. There was a request put in to allow FoF to read MIDI events (as opposed to lyric events) and treat them as lyrics, but that is a workaround to incorrect MIDI files, whereas I'm using lyric events as I'm supposed to. Unless FoFiX drops PART VOCALS support entirely, it makes no sense to move the lyrics to EVENTS or any other track.

I was playing around with my windows python2.5 compilation and noticed python 2.5.4 was just released. I tried building fofix with that version and it seems that some of the issues I was having before were resolved. I also applied some patches to py-vorbis and rebuilt it. I was able to open the exe and play songs without having to restart. I was also able to get it to run in vista by using win98 compatibility (you might also have to select the three disable option check boxes in the fretsonfire.exe compatibility screen).

I have limited access to windows machines right now, so if anyone is willing to test it out, here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?l0oeo2mgzfs

Please let me know how it runs.

Edit: Something I haven't been able to test is multi-track songs. Can someone post a link to one so that I can test it? I'm not sure if I have any. All the songs I've tried to open since I started working on this have opened.
