My X360 Guitar

Postby TehMightyUnicorn » Mon Dec 01, 2008 11:24 pm

It is a wired guitar and when I plugged it into my old computer it **** my computer up... so I'm scared to do it to this one...

What happened was, I plugged it in and was installing the driver thingy and then it got disconnected and the screen went black and said "Missing Software!" and then I could never use the comp again... so... I'm scared...

I'm using an XB360 controller(wired) for Rock Band without problems...except star power....grrrr. I'm told the wireless works great with the XB wireless controller module for PC but I havent tried it yet. I will try it soon though as I like the controller for Rock Band 2 way better.

So if I buy GH3 with the Guitar included (wireless) I won't need something extra?

Yeah, that could be fixed. The driver is coming from Windows Update, and the results are never pretty if you stop amidst an update. Plus, considering that you unplugged the controller during driver installation, I'm not at all surprised. However, that could be fixed.

As far as plugging it in to another computer, go for it it won't hurt a thing. Assuming of course that you don't turn off the computer/disconnect the controller/or do anything else stupid while it is installing.

Reboot for good measure afterwards, and all should be fine.

Yes, just grab the correct drivers from here.

You'll need the drivers for it. You can find a link to it right above your quote.

The wireless receiver for the Xbox360 controller works with all Xbox360 controllers. Including (But not limited to): The controller, any wireless racing wheel, any guitar, any drumkit, ect.
