raph666, you mean, you`ve managed to make the game display .png instead of .svg and got rid of the vector madness? Wow.

Yes! since svg are actually some sort of xml code, all you have to do is, using inkscape, import a png and that's it, no bitmap vectorizing because png are bitmaps. When you want to modify the image, modify the .png.

However it's not really practical for mod sharing because inkscape uses the absolute path of the png file. If you open the .svg with the notepad you'll see the line at the bottom of the file:

Code: Select all

<image
 Ã‚      y="-451.7771"
 Ã‚      x="-353.7662"
 Ã‚      id="image2352"
 Ã‚      height="1289.7343"
 Ã‚      width="647.04773"
 Ã‚      sodipodi:absref="D:\FoF\noisymod\noisygraph\neck.png"
 Ã‚      xlink:href="D:\FoF\noisymod\noisygraph\neck.png" />
 Ã‚ </g>
</svg>

Mmm, sorry for the double post, I just thought you'd like to know I think I was wrong about all this, actually it seems that frets on fire will display .png that have the right name if there is a a svg in the directory.

After trying a couple of things I realized that if there is like... logo.png and logo.svg in your mod directory, no matter what the svg looks like, Frets on Fire will use the logo.png. I first thought it was due to image ref because I, without knowing, saved both files in the same directory so it gave me the impression it was working the way I explained up here...but no. I'm sorry if I'm confusing but the fact is that you can display png anyway :;):

So for the idea to have a different cassette.svg for each selected song, maybe the game could load a new .svg for each song, just like it loads the .ogg but it's still hypothetical because I don't know what is possible to do with programming. Maybe someone like Rogue_F could answer that.

I am seeing alot of the cases over the CDs in the screenshots, so here's how to fix it. Go to Frets On Fire->data->songs->(song name) and delete label.png

another way to prevent bizare-looking labels is to use the label.png model in the CD.rar and create your own label, it would be long to redo them all but if someone feel like it, tell me I surely would like to have them

Ummm, no. That would be pointless, seeing as how the game was made to display cassettes, and no one really cares about the back of a cassette. It would just double the amount of memory you'd be using for labels.

As far as getting it to diplay silver, why couldn't you just make the cassettecolor= function a shiny/silver color and have a label go on top of it? It'd be the same idea as a regular CD without the cover sticker on it (take some scissors and scrape off a label of a cd, the cd is clear and you can see the shiny part through it). I don't see any reason why this way wouldn't work.

Keep trying,

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

could someone make a jewel case, it would look awesome

jewel cases would probably be the best thing to make labels on, because you could include a full album cover

also you could include the little slim label thing on the side

it would kick ass
