Good point... I use a GH2-era off-brand PS2 guitar through a PS2 - USB adapter. It's called, "The Hammer." (lol)

For the bass groove and other RB features, could you have an option to put them in only RB based themes?

Yes, this is possible. I'll add it to the To Do list, which is rivaling the hotfix history length now :)


Hey, I have a request -- I know I don't normally care about graphics, but does anybody know where to find the exact font used in Rock Band's co-op score box? As in the SS on this page:

There is already an option to disable starpower refill notes in GH themes, so all we need is a Bass Groove enable option for GH themes right?


edit2: also, if someone can get the exact lyrics font used in that screenshot I will use it for the Rock Band automatically-extracted lyrics.

Not to excite anybody, but I am planning on creating a scrolling lyrics display just like Rock Band for these new lyrics that I have exact timing info on. I hope to highlight words as they are sung (by the vocalist in the song, not by you), much like a karaoke display.

I made this bass groove overlay neck, it looks good in game, but I tried to made it like in RB...without success :( (The cutted image on bottom must be in it because there is empty space behind the keys without it)

Thanks again Figure, that looks cool in Overlay mode. I think I'll use both your bass groove necks in the next hotfix :)

Also, should we keep it called bassgrooveneck.png or whatever? The same neck is used for guitar solos.

yes, that neck is made for bassgrooveneckovr.png - its an overlay, not meant to be a moving neck.

Guitar solos will use a separate neck for maximum flexibility. And are not even being worked on yet... patience....

Cool, I think I'm going to try learning python. I'm usually very good with computers, math, etc., so this should come easy to me (I hope :O ). Any suggestions on where to start? (any off-site tutorials, playing with certain files in FoF, etc.)

No... I've made a decision that I won't help anyone with Python. It's just easier this way. It's such a confusing language... I can waste a long time walking someone through what would seem like the simplest change. I barely have enough time to make my own code work. Do you want me to stop making progress and spend my time teaching Python? That doesn't make sense.... I'm a terrible teacher, I'm a much better coder.

I'm going to put this in my hotfix post so everyone sees it
