Thanks once again for the detailed bug report... you're pretty much my main HOPO pattern / technique bug tester :)

I'm downloading the new link and will look into this issue.

Looks like it huh? XD

I guess it helps that I have experience with debugging stuff (Game Maker: I worked with it for 5-6 years now. I made a FoF .mid loader with it, but no gameplay).

The "More" hopo setting is 1/8th notes right? If so, I can check out how BPM processing is on that setting. I don't know what "less" would be though. =/

Also, it might be an isolated incident, but I'm getting "invalid mode: rb" after a song. It's not a game-breaker (unlike invalid literal: null XD ).

EDIT:
myfingershurt wrote:I just tried to see SpikeHead's latest bug for myself, but could not see anything wrong. Perhaps I need more detail exactly what to do? I was using GH2 Sloppy with After-Chord HOPOs On, and when a pattern comes up in Chord Test 2:

G G G
R R R R R

I hold G + R and strum on each note and don't miss one.

What should I be doing differently to reproduce the issue you were talking about?

General notice: Loading time is directly related to feature preparation for a particular theme. I am not planning to do any work on decreasing loading times. My plans involve ensuring the game works, and that gameplay is as fun and accurate as possible.

Please do your best to isolate bugs before reporting; if a certain setting causes a problem for you, it helps me a LOT more to know what setting that is. It will also help me determine what follow-up questions I should ask to further pinpoint the issue.

If you are satisfied to play with settings until it works, and then not take note of exactly what setting(s) fixed the problem, then chances are that bug will continue to go unnoticed. :)

I use GH2 Strict (as always), the standard hopo setting, and a wide hitwindow. I know there's more, let me check here really quick.

PM me for my Wii or DS Friend Codes.

http://www.fretsonfire.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=38434 My Wii GH:WT Guitar and Drum GlovePIE script. Also supports GH3 guitars!
Since "DragonFail" "sucks" so much, I won't post anything related or about them any longer.

Yeah but I was talking about if he wanted to play with a background but not wait 1 minute for the guitarscene to load :)

Oh, right :) (oops)

@MathieuG: The "Invalid Mode: Rb" is a known issue, we still don't have a fix for that yet.

---------------------ALARIAN V2.62 HOTFIX---------------------------
Instructions: Just unzip the hotfix into your Alarian main folder (where FretsOnFire.exe and the data folder reside). It will replace your fretsonfire.ini with a fresh one (back up yours if you want to refer to old settings) and various files in the Alarian\data folder.

If anyone finds problematic note patterns with the after-chord HOPOs, please confirm by performing multiple tests with the various HOPO options, and then create a blank / silent song containing just the problematic pattern and send it to me to use for debugging. Please ensure that your test song exhibits the same problem, if not you need to include more surrounding notes.

Remember, my hotfixes are cumulative - the latest fix contains all previous fixes unless otherwise noted.

---------------------
Latest hotfix:

Hotfix #6 - Link - Post
***New code submission from Capo:
****Starpower clap SFX are handled with new logic now, and play much more in sync with the beats.

---------------------
History:
note: no need to download old hotfixes unless the latest causes a new problem for you.

Hotfix #5 - Link - Post
****Fixed second issue posted here:
*****Before, the game used the note's time position to keep track of when the user has begun a HOPO streak.
******This did not work correctly with the first note if it was exactly at time position 0.0, as the logic can't see this as a HOPO start.
*****Now, a separate variable keeps track of specifically when HOPOing or not. The first note may now be at time position 0.0.

Hotfix #4 - Link - Post
****New startup logic written - if a nonexistant theme folder name is selected (i.e. from an older release), a valid default theme will be forced.

Hotfix #3 - Link - Post
****Fixed GH2 Strict ascending HOPO issue posted here:
*****In GH2 Strict, you can now release a lower fret than a held HOPO'd fret without penalty

Hotfix #2 - Link - Post
****Stage Rotation new options:
*****"No" (stage doesn't change)
*****"Random" (stages rotate randomly)
*****"In Order" (stages rotate in order)
****Original stage rotation algorithm only used 10 images. New stage rotation will use all available stage images.
****Changed stage rotation delay option to adjust easier, in steps of 50 instead of steps of 1
*****Also increased stage rotation delay maximum to 2000 (up from 1000)

Hotfix #1 - Link - Post -- Ds~ Rock Band Mod V3 modularized
****Fully modularized Rock Band theme and all related code:
*****You may now name your Rock Band theme folder(s) anything you'd like, they no longer have to be "Rb"
*****The game specifically checks for "overdriveneck.png" in the theme folder to determine if it is a Rock Band theme.

I'm guessing hotfix 5 doesn't have UC's multiplier addition or DS~ RB V3.

New info regarding above post.

If you strum early (that is, the notes are above the hit-line), then you might miss a note or 2, but if you strum late (where th notes are below the hit line), then you are pretty much guaranteed to hit them all.

Once again, this is with my standard settings:

HO/PO System: GH2 Strict
HO/PO Timing: Normal
HO/PO After Chord: On
Hit-Window: Standard

I would imagine that no one would have that problem without HO/PO after chord. EDIT3: This one's fact now. No problems without HO/PO after chord.

I will try other settings to see if there's a difference, and post the results.

EDIT: My bad, I was on Standard.

EDIT2: Uhh...You could strum 7 or more times (without releasing the frets) for only 5 notes, and still have hit a set of five notes.

EDIT3: Mid-paragraph edit

EDIT4: I have tried all of the settings, and it seems the same: You strum early, you either miss a note or have to strum extra times. You strum late, you only strum 5 times. Early and Late are before and after the note reaches the hit-line, respectively.

I haven't had time to mess with UC's addition, haven't even looked yet.

Ds~' new Rock Band theme can be used if you want, I even made it a modular theme and re uploaded it as an example alongside an earlier hotfix (#1). Why would a hotfix include a theme?

True, True, well the UC RB multiplier was built on hotfix 4 so if we knew exactly how much he changed it would be easy to add to the next hotfix.

I'll look at the UC multiplier and implement it later today, I have to get back to paid work for now :)
