It is the songs folder located within the DATA folder which is located within your main Fretsonfire folder. You should know where your fretsonfire folder is, its where the game is stored. If you dont know where you installed the game then we cant help you ( how the hell would we know where you installed the game). If you do know, then oyu should be able to find the folder no problem

you can allways find out where the folder is if you have a shortcut.. just right click and choose properties.
glad you got it sorted now, but in all seriousness, NOT knowing where you installed something is a bit sh1t. if you cant keep track of one game, what the hells gonna go on with the rest of your comuter? do oyu check for virus' much ?? if you dont you might wanna start now.

There is no such thing ?!?!?

A folder is those little yellow icons, when you click on them they open and have " other things " in them.
A .RAR file looks like a little stack of books tied together, you need winrar to open it, it is a compressed file ( a package if you will )

I think what your trying to say is... " where is my frets on fire folder " You mean the one with your game in?? We cant help you there sorry, nobody but you will know where you put the game ( or anything else on your computer for that matter) Alltho there are some things you can do to help. Windows has its very own SEARCH function built into it, so try some thing obviouse like searching you computer for (all files and folders) and use this as your keyword "fretsonfire" If that doesnt find it then, your on oyur own.. As i said Nobody but you will ever know where you put things on your computer.....

i dont have the folders what can i do

Which folders are you talking about? If you mean there is no songs folder inside your data folder, then all you need to do is make one, and then extract your songs into it.

where is the folder where you put the songs at

In your songs folder, which is inside your data folder, which is inside your fretsonfire folder, if there is no songs folder inside your data folder then make one.

How can I import my own mp3s into FOF?

Do you mean to create your own songs, or to change the music file that was already in a folder?
You will need to convert them to an .ogg file, using a program such as Audacity.

Have you extracted the file? If so, then open up your fretsonfire songs folder, and then just drag the file that was extracted into it,

Mike.

Alrighty, here's an issue I can't find anywhere on the forums. I went back and dl'd the version you guys recommended (not the newest one full of bugs, but the RF Mod4 version). All of my songs work but a couple. They're there in the songs folder, they're there when I start the game, they play when I try to play them - but there's no fretting involved, nothing comes down the fretboard. I've taken them out and put them back in (after redownloading them to make sure nothing was corrupt), renamed the guitar.ogg to song.ogg, everthing I can find here on the forums. The folder for each song now has a song.ini, a midi file, and two .ogg files (song and guitar). Do you think these are just bad files (which sucks!), or is there something I'm looking over or haven't seen here yet?

This "problem" isn't a problem at all. Some programs that some members of this forum (And others) choose to use, create a "dummy" difficulty which is necessary if you want to import your game into GH2 PS2 or GH3 PC. Try playing on a different difficulty. It's usually the "Amazing" difficulty that will have the actually fretting of the song.
