Kinda like a lounge mode. Imagine just pressing The option "Endless Mode" then you choose a difficulty, what instrument and the game starts, playing songs in any random order. It doesn't record score, and it doesn't pause to load a new song. Maybe it'd have a 5 second gap in between.
The principle is that the game just loads the first song, and while you're playing, the game will be loading the next song in the background so you could stream the thing. You can quit at any time.
I'd really love something like this, or has it already been done? xD
Endless Mode

Re: Endless Mode
5 secs gap in between in order for the game to load another song? Does that even possible? I think let's make the board just scrolling, the audience cheer and all that and after the song has successfully loaded the song name appear and the countdown appear.
That's my opinion tho.

Re: Endless Mode
try not load next song in 5 secs but load the next song with the first loading screen
hmmm......this could be a multiplayer feature.......

Re: Endless Mode
I meant 5 seconds wait for maybe rest or something. The actual song loading will be while you're playing the previous song. Say you're playing Song 1, and while that's happening, Song 2 is being loaded. Once Song 1 ends, Song 2 should have already finished being loaded into the game. You rest or take a sip of water in 5 seconds, then Song 2 plays. While Song 2 is being played, Song 3 is being loaded, etc.

This is the problem i see with an endless setlist idea. The fact that the games performance tends to worsen the longer you play.. Aside from that though its a feature i would like to see.
Is there even the ability to make a setlist a la RB2? At least that way you could just pick as many songs as you know your machine can handle before a restart is needed? Guess you'd lose the randomness of not knowing whats coming next though..

Re: Endless Mode
You could also make it that the finished song is "unloaded" to make it as if you were just playing 1 song.

Re: Endless Mode
With Python 2.6 the performance over time problem is greatly reduced.
If you made the loading of the song take low priority compared to the actual gameplay, I'm sure you could load one song within the 3-5 minutes of an average song. It won't have to be doing the loading of the graphics part either, as they're already loaded. Just remove the previous song from memory and start loading the next. If it worked and was optimized correctly, there'd probably be little to no FPS drop.

Im aware of that. Problem is 2.6 plays SO much worse than 2.4 for me (and countless others) that its not really that practical.
Sorry, not really contributing to the discussion much. The loading while another song plays makes sense. This is an idea id really like to see come to fruition. :D

This won't work. What if the song you play first, is, for example, one of the 10 second songs in the Short Songs for Short Heroes pack, and the next song is freaking Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence? (Which is 40 minutes long)
Re: Endless Mode
The game could be "paused" for the next song to load if the time alotted simply isn't enough.
