Well i guess everyone else is scared to suggest DJ hero
Well it looks like im the first one to suggest this but im sure everyone else has thought of and dismissed it.
DJ HERO
Can one of u guys who knows stuff about coding could make a dj hero clone?
youd probably need a dj hero controller but it would be cool to make it based of the FOF design.
It seems a lot harder than FOF but maybe its possible?
Thanks

Re: Well i guess everyone else is scared to suggest DJ hero
I've already thought about this a fair bit... But even before designing gameplay rules and charts and so forth, how would you control it?
Using the DJ deck like you said requires people to have brought DJ Hero anyway, and would be rather inaccessible. So the question becomes, how to you emulate this with a mouse and keyboard?
EDIT: I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to use the DJ deck. Of course you should. Just like you can use a GH guitar now.
My first thought is to use the mouse to "scratch", and you can use the 3 buttons on the mouse as the three buttons on the turntable. For crossfade you might be able to use the mouse, but it could be a bit dodgy, especially when scratching as well. Considering crossfade is usually just all left or all right, you could use two buttons on the keyboard.
Keep in mind I have never actually played DJ Hero, and quite possibly never will...
Any other ideas?

We could spasm our hands across the keyboard.
I haven't touched a GH related game for 6 months. Woo. My (dead) song thread: Contains horrible things.

Well seeing as since it released the board hasn't jumped on it like they would with RB3 or something like that, I'd say you're in the wrong place. :P

So? I think it could be incorporated into FoFiX at a later date as a separate part.
Rather than "mixing tracks" as in DJ hero, you could use it to chart sound effects and backing tracks in some songs.

That could make for an interesting multiplayer experience.

Actually, I think death_au's idea is pretty good. When I read this, I think if possible, make the gameplay using mouse and keyboard like death_au.

I'm just saying that while it may be a nice feature, it's not really in demand.

That's true, I guess. It'll be a long time before we get a PART_DJ (if we ever get one at all). But it doesn't hurt to flesh out the ideas.

Re: Well i guess everyone else is scared to suggest DJ hero
I don't think we really should try to emulate DJ Hero, it seems to have create a whole different genre of music gameplay. Just because we do Drums, Guitar, and Vocals doesn't mean we should start doing DJ just because it's a Hero. We mainly focus on the Rock Band/Guitar Hero gameplay style, else we would have tried to incorporate games like Taiko Drum Master and DDR into FOF by now. Wait a few months to a year, if DJ Hero gets big there'll probably be another open source project out that plays like it, like how FOF isn't the only Guitar Hero play-alike out there.

Hmm... You got a point. DJ Hero ain't rock but GH/RB/RR/FOF does.

Mostly agree.
I think if you DO make it, it should be in the same project so you can multiplayer mix-and-match, like on the actual DJ Hero.
