Drum samples

Postby joeblotech » Mon Oct 19, 2009 1:26 pm

Would it be possible to add a feature that allows separate drum samples for each song so the drum fills sound closer to the drums in the song one is playing?

Perhaps loading the samples from the song folder so each song has its own samples or just default to FOFIX samples if none are present in the song folder?

I support this idea. You should go and make a google code issue for it. http://code.google.com/p/fofix/issues

Yeah! You make a folder sounds aand then put drums.ogg in it. Then place it is the song's folder. I support the idea.

I believe the sounds are bassdrum.oog, crash.oog, tom1.oog, tom2.oog, tom3.ogg and are located in the FoFix\data\sounds folder.

I would like to see this as well. The current FOFIX drum fills are not fun. You can't hear the fill!

Huh... Yes, you can. Set "mute drum fills" to no.

yeah, like a setting in the options menu.
like an option that says "drum kit" and choose either like rock band, rock band 2, default, and by song. there could maybe be some generic drum kits included too, like maybe a roomy one, or an electronic one.

FoFiX issue 460
Both ways of doing this are good. You could also have a song.ini value to specify which kit. It's a lot lighter, but the OP's way is more flexible.
Personally I'd like to see both implemented: Samples for specific songs, and for songs that don't include them, a user (or song.ini) selectable kit to pull samples from.

How do you even put in drum fills if you're charting with Feedback? I really need to know how to put in drum fills cause this activating on it's own thing is annoying....
