GHWT/M Chart Extractor

Postby endrju » Sat Jun 06, 2009 12:29 pm

Not for long:

This program will do all the hard work of extracting your chart files from your GH3/A disk

This will also work for GHWT/M, but the chart format is a bit different. Modification of these charts will be needed. Until the format is better understood, and this program is upgraded accordingly.

All you have to do is insert your disk. The program will try to auto-detect the disk, extract the charts, and clean up it's mess.

You will be left with a Charts folder.

I tested it on my GH3 and GHWT PS2 disks on Windows Vista. It should work on XP too.

Give it a try:

Please note that extracting charts is illegal unless you own the game. Do not go asking me or others for charts, we do not support piracy here.

Usage:

chartExtractor [file location]

[file location] is the location of your Guitar Hero data files. Usually, this is your CD\DVD Drive

The program can be executed without parameters, and it will try find the files itself

support for x360 Iso's (Rather than direct from disc ) ?

No, however, i have two alternative suggestions:

1. use 7zip to open the iso and extract the files.

You can then use:

chartExtractor [path to files]

2. use a virtual drive such as Virtual Clone Drive or Daemon Tools

you can then use

chartExtractor [path to virtual disk]

Of course, you can run the program without parameters and enter the path within the program

Also, I don't know if this will work for XBox 360, as the file structure may be different, but you can test this for me if you want

Original post form ScoreHero.

Can someone chceck if it works with 360 ISO?

So, this extracts the charts? If I'm not mistaken, audio from said games is slowly being released from the 360 and wii games over on ETS.

Dare I say, progress?

I must say, I'm curious of the modifications it mentions.

Only charts.

Audio is (like you said) slowly released on ETS.

If we can in this way get charts, and with simply modifications have playable charts - it will be great.

The only thing I'm worried about is things like the extra bass notes being removed. This is the only thing I can infer that could be meant by "with certain modifications".

Purely blatant assumptions here, do not read them as fact.

In a perfect world, we'd get the charts with the bass notes, thus giving the FoFiX guys a chance to see them and implement them.
