Now that Rock Revolution is out... - Discussion here

Postby kawaii_kumiko69 » Fri Oct 17, 2008 11:48 pm

Assuming that we have the proper ripping software for this, should we rip RR songs?

It's true that the guys at Konami did some quite terrible covers, and I know that cama has quit, but I think that Rock Revolution also deserves to be ripped for FoF use. I just saw the charts at YouTube just earlier and although the bass pedal looks confusing to play, it will be charted anyway in FoF as a wide note. Also, as some of the songs also appear in other rhythm video games, it also adds to the variety.

Song List (songs in blue are masters, the rest are covers):
  • "All My Life" - Foo Fighters
  • "All The Small Things" - Blink-182
  • "Am I Evil?" - Metallica
  • "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" - Jet
  • "Bad Reputation" - Joan Jett
  • "Blitzkrieg Bop" - Ramones
  • "Cum on Feel the Noize" - Quiet Riot
  • "Chop Suey!" - System Of A Down
  • "Dance, Dance" - Fall Out Boy
  • "Detroit Rock City" - Kiss
  • "The Diary of Jane" - Breaking Benjamin
  • "Dirty Little Secret" - All-American Rejects
  • "Dr. Feelgood" - Mötley Crüe
  • "The End of Heartache" - Killswitch Engage
  • "Falling Away from Me" - Korn
  • "Given Up" - Linkin Park
  • "Heading Out to the Highway" - Judas Priest
  • "Highway Star"- Deep Purple
  • "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" - Megadeth
  • "Joker & the Thief" - Wolfmother
  • "Kiss Me Deadly" - Lita Ford
  • "Last Resort" - Papa Roach
  • "Magic Man" - Heart
  • "No One Like You" - Scorpions
  • "Our Truth" - Lacuna Coil
  • "Pain" - Three Days Grace
  • "Paralyzer" - Finger Eleven
  • "Pull Me Under" - Dream Theater
  • "Round and Round" - Ratt
  • "Run to the Hills" - Iron Maiden
  • "Sk8er Boi" - Avril Lavigne
  • "Somebody Told Me" - The Killers
  • "The Spirit of Radio" - Rush
  • "Spoonman" - Soundgarden
  • "Still of the Night" - Whitesnake
  • "Stone Cold Crazy" - Queen
  • "Walk" - Pantera
  • "We're Not Gonna Take It" - Twisted Sister
  • "White Room" - Cream
  • "Won't Get Fooled Again" - The Who
  • "Youth Gone Wild" - Skid Row

Discussion (and flames) here.

doesn't mean the files can't be converted into midi format :glare:

honestly though, don't expect rips/converts/whatever soon, most of the stuff we have is because scorehero has provided the tools, we'll see what they can cook up

it's hard to believe someone would actually spend the time to make a program that converts drummania GDAs into midis considering they are completely different formats, for the end result being ~40 awful covers with terrible charts

You can call me stupid, but I actually like the setlist. If it weren't for the covers...
I am interested in playing Chop Suey! since Rb2 made such a horrible chart.

You seriously think the rock revolution charts will be an improvement?

seriously look at this, the chart is pretty similar except with some more 3 note chords. Not really harder at all. I don't even care, I couldn't stand 10 seconds of that awful cover

Covers sound like crap. Spirit of the Radio guitar and Run To The Hills drums are worst charts. Am I Evil, All the Small Things, Holy Wars, and Chop Suey! are worst covers.

The only thing worth taking from this game is the idea of freestyle drum parts.

No, not the Rock Band-type freestyle, in RR it's specific to different notes.

I don't know, I can't really explain thier freestyle drum parts. You'd have to watch a video to see what I'm talking about.

Spoiler:

It's not a real goose, it's only a picture of one.

You can freestyle on notes with tails.
