Perhaps a layer separator?
If you aren't familiar, you can use Audacity to layer songs to separate the guitar.ogg and song.ogg. If everyone has managed to make what FoF has become, you think it would be possible?
I tried Audacity, but it would often mess up and sound horrendous.
I understand if it is too difficult, as well.

Re: Perhaps a layer separator?
Such a feat really isnt possible in any game.
Disclaimer: If you take the above text seriously, then you are an even greater idiot then I

Re: Perhaps a layer separator?
Well apparently it is possible in Audacity.
But I can't get it to work.

no its not.. you can *kind of* separate, but you'll never get a full separation, and it only works when songs are made a certain way.

Re: Perhaps a layer separator?
The vocals panned over center trick basically uses noise cancellation, but as mentioned this requires the vocals to be mixed a specific way.
Re: Perhaps a layer separator?
In the tutorial, it states that you can use guitar to separate, as well.
Still didn't get it to work.

dont bother, the end result isnt worth it, the only use that trick has is hearing the guitar better when charting
Re: Perhaps a layer separator?
Hmm, how about parametric equalizer? we know frequency of guitars(bass too), vocals, drums(oh god..) so just gain them up while playing right and down if messed
In gh wt they are gain up current instrument audio track i.e. bass at bass career can be easily heard against guitar career...

Re: Perhaps a layer separator?
Each instrument doesn't use an exclusive range of frequencies. Guitar Hero and Rock Band have separate recordings of each instrument, and that's why individual instruments can be amplified in-game.
Re: Perhaps a layer separator?
What do you suggest? at least for the separated tracks in the game can be applied volume amplification, and for the whole raise a specific range of frequencies, it is yielding results (but only when you drawing notes). It is a pity that this method distorts the music :(

Re: Perhaps a layer separator?
you cant get the same effect as gh/rb does, they have the source recordings, we have the mixed mp3s, they cannot be separated once mixed, your wasting your time if you keep trying this
Re: Perhaps a layer separator?
Asskickulater, reread post again, I said that effects can be @copied@ frm GH for already separated tracks(4example rip from RB\GH multi-track or to your own record).
At fofix it possible.
Hz amplifying helps only on note placement stage. On Amplifying single ogg track we can get terrible sound, like when we uses pitchband module.
(using izotope rx2, clearly visible how placed instruments and where is vocals)
