My complaint about the new version

Hi, I've enjoyed playing frets on fire on and off for a few years now.

I just loaded up 3.121 and was going through the new menus. No complaints there, until I'm ready to get to the song selection. Now in the old FoF, it would just immediately list the songs in your song folder, right? This version has you choose the folder where the songs are kept. Why? Why not just have a default folder. I opened up a few folders, trying to find the directory, got impatient, said screw this, alt f4'd and came here to complain. Where are the songs? This game used to be much easier to pick up and play without having to screw around in folder menus.

It only does that when there is no songs folder in your data folder. If you have songs to play and want to keep it in your songs folder, then put them in there. This has been around since RF-mod. We, however, do not have the original songs packaged with FoFiX that came with FoF so there is no songs folder, which means by default you look for one. This is normally preferred because you can keep your songs on another folder or even an external hard drive/cd and direct your fof to load songs from there instead. This way whenever you change versions or you have multiple versions installed, you can have them all point to the same folder without having to copy songs or have a slew of shortcuts.
