Slide/Purple Notes

Postby void111 » Thu Sep 17, 2009 9:02 pm

I think a really good feature for FOF would be slider/purple notes like the ones in world tour.If you,ve seen this post in any other topic which was on missing features in FOFix.Ive deleted it and reposted it here because i was on the wrong topic. So please don,t report me for double posting if you,ve seen this same comment or thought posted before because i got rid of it.Sorry

I kinda thought a little and i saw how Slider/Purple Notes Might work as a feature for FOF

1.First Thing Is First We need To make the note on Blender or find out a way to make them a little tranparent just like when you make a Fretboard transparent on the board transparency option on FoFix 3.120 Beta 2.If It,s possible to lower the transparency of the note then we got the right type of notes.

2.We need to make them work like they actually do in GH games.I think combining GH2,s timing window with a sloppier hammer on system would equal the system of how the hammer on system basically works for purple notes. What i meen by a sloppier hammer on system then GH2 Sloppy is a Hammer On system that would allow you to continue the sequence of the slide notes even if you mess up.I meen like instead of strumming to continue the Hammer On we can still continue without strumming to keep hammer oning the sequence.I also think combining GH2,s timing window with the sloppier hammer on system would make it so you can,t press a wrong fret of the hammer on sequence and still continue like for example GRYO asending if you include the Blue note in the sequence you will mess it up but it would still allow you to continue the sequence even though you messed up.Take Solo F off Satch Boogie for example on GH:WT.We also wanna make it so you can,t hit the note too late or to early either. For example:Hitting a Very Late ot Very Early would count as a miss.So you can only really hit it by getting Perfect,Excellent+,Excellent-,Slightly Early,Or Slightly Late.

3.You now may be scratching your head and asking how would this all work if we can,t fret purple notes yet.Well i think we would,nt need to fret the notes I think we can just use the program that we use to Mark Guitar Solo Sections and Star power EOF.We will need a new version of the program that will allow you to mark a section of your chart as a slider note part.

This is probaly how i think they would work for FOF

I hope this idea works out and i apoligize for some of my English

That would be a great feature. I hope they will be doing it.

BTW, the notes are "not" purple. Slide (Tap) notes are transparent [see through] notes.

I don't think its possible to make transparent 3D notes based on my experience but it might work with 2D notes.

2D = Yes

and they're not purple nor transparent, as far as I know they're like black or something (at least on PS2 playing with guitars which don't have neck slider, i may be mistaken because of lack of experience)

tapping / sliding notes is already possible in FoFiX. If you have a GHWT guitar controller, do this: set the controller to analog slide guitar and for "analog slider" map the orange slide touch pad, and it's done

for the notes, i don't actually care, but the feature is good

that only means you can use the FRETS though (as far as i know)

you still cant "slide" the notes without strumming.

Yeah, you can slide but you still have to strum. Even the solo frets is not done yet.

There's no need to make them have a different timing window than regular notes. In all the Guitar Hero games that have them, they work exactly like regular hammer-ons, except you can still hit them even if you didn't hit the previous note (well, not really in GH:WT, but that was a bug and was fixed in the later games), or presumably, if you hit a wrong note while using a strict HOPO system. And it definitely does not break your combo if you hit an incorrect note during a slider section in any of the games including World Tour (though I'm not sure if that's actually what you meant).

You are wrong, I can slide as well as tap notes. It doesn't work for you?

I think he means you need to strum back when you missed a note.

It would be possible to make a seperate .png file for slider notes in the theme folder (for example: slide_notes.png)

and for Feedback, You could mark a section for slider notes (Slide_Solo_1) like you mark the solo section (Gtr_Solo_1)

maybe, there could be an option to turn slider notes on or off in the song.inis (slide=TRUE/FALSE)

actually we can already mark Slider Note sections in EOF but the only thing we need to make this work is adding support for this in FOF
