Song Svn.......
If it is possible that we can put songs in a repository and update our svns if there is a new song released? Kinda like DLC, yet just 2 clicks. It is favorable for Guitar Hero and Rock band songs if there is a DLC released, and fretted it., so it is easy to download.

Re: Song Svn.......
I've played with the idea a few times. It would probably be best to avoid hosting the actual song files, they're after all the easiest to identify, other than that there's only the midi and the images that might violate copyright laws. I don't really know how the law is with the midis, but usually they're just rips and would probably violate them. I think that the case would be different with a project like the GHWT song remakes, where the songs are refretted according to the original, but are not actual rips.
Of course it would be cool seeing a team of fretters putting up a svn, fret songs by themselves and fill the gaps (mediuma easy hard difficulties, other instrumnets) as time goes. That actually sounds like an idea. :)

It's not like I dislike sleeping, I really do like it to be honest. It's the whole wake up/go to sleep business I don't like.

Re: Song Svn.......
Good, but will marks errors at the update in the modification of song.ini by the scores.
Also, if I delete one I dislike, it will be created again in each update
Or it can be avoided?

Re: Song Svn.......
Terrible idea, if you ask me.
It was a stretch to host themes that way, but songs? There is no point to it. For that matter, I fail to see the point of 'DLC' in our career packs. Everything is DLC here.
Just release 'Hero' Packs. If you fret something new, make a new pack. No need to constantly keep updating one particular pack.

I don't like it. While it seems to be the latest trend to put everything in svn, it only really works well for keeping track of code.
JohnRacing: Try to become familiar with how svn merges your local changes with those it pulls from the server on an update and how svn handles conflicts. If song.ini files change, which I don't see happening too often, you'll get either a clean merge or a conflict, but if you do get a conflict, it's not hard to fix. Unfortunately, it will resurrect files you have deleted locally (with the SVN delete, move, or rename commands, the latter two of which are really implemented as a copy followed by a delete) whenever they change on the server, but only when they change on the server.
