Jazz upright bass style - key release instead of key press, eh?

What would you like to see added or fixed in FOF?

As some of you may know, I've been wishing for more variety in the types of songs that are made for FoF, such as Jazz, Classical, Accordion, harp, etc.(It'd actually not be very difficult to do accordion songs due to the new tap system, the "pick" key could be synonymous to filling the billows with air). Anyway, I digress...

It'd be cool if there was a mod that allows for a slap string style instead of a strum style, i.e. instead of the game reading the key press as a pick, it'd register the key release. I've experimented to see if it would have the same feel as playing an upright bass, and surprisingly, it does.
Of course, since I doubt there are alot of Jazz bass fans around here, I don't see this happening anytime soon. I'm sure if this was a big jazz forum, people would be excited about it.

Well, what do you think about this idea?

Well, I say if you can pull it off, go for it. I for one appreciate any variety that can be added (one can only take so much metal lol).

You mean like slap`n`pop technique? When you slap the lower strings with thumb and pluck the higer ones with the index-finger and middle-finger?

No, I mean the technique in which you pull the string up away from the instrument, then release it, allowing it to "slap" against the fretboard, causing a louder sound than simply plucking it the normal way.

Yeah, I just think it's a stylish way to play.

SketchMan3,
Oh, I get it. I mean, on bass it`s called poping, cause you pop the sting:)

I'm going to pluck my keys off my keyboard, but doubt that they'll pop back =)

lol

By pressing the key then releasing it, it emulates the feel of plucking a bass string. It would count the key-not-being-pressed as a pick.
