no current release of PS has pro drum support, but in the current builds, yes pro drums are supported, as well as pro guitar and pro bass

does eof export the pro midi's correctly? I tried to export one and run it in Phase Shift and it caused it to hang on the load screen.

Actually, since 1.7 :)

Not yet. The MIDI import needs to be peer reviewed (ie. during beta testing). Once everybody is satisfied that all the pro guitar features are imported correctly, the export logic will be added.

This has become the standard for most users.

I tried to start using Reaper, but I couldn't figure out how to use it :/ so I decided to just stick with EOF.

i'd just like to make a note saying (and i don't know if this always happens) that i have made a song using this new beta, and it is not backwards compatible with eof-1.7RC3(r500)-win32... it displays an "error loading song" message if i try to do so... it also included an "original" mp3 file in the song file, whereas the older version does not... idk if that's normal, and if it is, sorry for being dumb...

The file format has been overhauled so charts saved in 1.8 will not be compatible with previous versions.

it also included an "original" mp3 file in the song file, whereas the older version does not

This feature was added in the 1.7 release. The leading silence feature will use that file instead of re-encoding the OGG itself so you don't lose any quality when adding silence. You can delete it if you aren't going to use the leading silence feature.

oh... well then don't mind me being all dumb and such... what would happen if i was to "accidentally" delete that file?? would the song not function properly?? assuming i added silence and then removed the "original" mp3 file?

I think it would just re-encode the current OGG file. This would lower the audio quality at least a little bit, since it would go from mp3->OGG->wav->OGG. If you leave the MP3 there, it will instead go from mp3->wav->OGG and skip the extra transcode.

The export logic was writing a broken MIDI header. This is now fixed. I guess it goes without saying for now that this particular beta won't be so useful for testing in-game, but it should allow everybody to see if the interface is otherwise working and crash-free.

uh oh... that's kind of a problem seeing as i've fretted a couple of songs with it and uploaded them...

oh well, i suppose i'll wait until it's fixed?? hopefully there will be a way to re-load the songs from the beta to the next release that doesn't have that problem, and it somehow fixes them when being saved in the more stable editor...

It's only a problem with the MIDI file, the project (.eof) file should be perfectly fine. Anybody that wants to try the bleeding edge version of EOF (which corrects the MIDI export issue), you can replace your eof.exe file with this one:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ryqf6d

I checked the export and import with this version and it should be fine, but bugs are in the nature of beta software releases.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU

So anything that we might've altered using the latest version has to be fixed using the one you just posted?
