Re: Advanced Song Tutorial Part 1 of 2
I have tried to follow the steps to the "T" but, whenever I load the file I just adjusted from Fl Studio to EOF it loads the part as guitar not drums. What's up here...?
Re: Advanced Song Tutorial Part 1 of 2
this is great but i can't be bothered to spend the time with the notes but i hav tried it with one song and it did come out alot better than doing the notes on frets on fire song editor

Still, this guide works. Puppetz's methods are unconventional for sure, but it works for some.
Even if fretting by ear is much safer.

Of course it will work for many people and im also sure that it helps people, I didnt say its unuseful, but still, this made me realize why i track by ear...
And also much faster *cough*.

I second that. Tux Guitar owns! Not only is it free but I prefer it over Guitar Pro, and so do my guitar and bass playing friends.

Are tabs ABSOLUTELY necessary? I only have net access like 50% of the time.

Well this tutorial is pretty useless without tabs. You don't need FL Studio if you don't have tabs so... Which means you have to ear fret. But reading about note placement and stuff you might find useful.

Ah. I see. hmm. Well, I could get tabs when I do have net access. Apparently, Editor On Fire has the capability to import GP5 tabs directly. Never been able to do it myself, the option's always grayed out, but it seems like it could save quite a bit of time.

The GP import function is grayed out if a pro guitar/bass track is not active in the editor. Just change to one of those 4 tracks and it should work.
Re: Advanced Song Tutorial Part 1 of 2
I'm having a bit of trouble finding a guitar pro tab for the song Thousand Foot Krutch - E For Extinction. Does this mean I have to fret by ear?:/
Edit: I tried some more well-known songs, but you have to pay every guitar pro tab?

They are free on a lot of websites. You can also look for scans of printed guitar tablature or band scores. You'll have to manually add all the notes, but the tab is probably going to be higher quality than what you'll find in guitar pro files.
