Thanks for the tip about the crazy mode! Works great.

Regarding the 7 lane drums: Not that I have any context on the technical difficulties, but what if you add an option in the Preferences that says "Phase Shift drums" which adds 2 lanes to the adv. and pro drum tracks and saves it differently from all other Rhythm Games? To make it easier you should also separate the Adv. Drum Track and the Normal Drum Track, since it would create complications otherwise. Or maybe Phase Shift doesn't support two of the same "lane notes" playing at the same time? Kinda weird how Phase Shift added 2 lanes even though it's not even programmed that way if that's the case.

I'm not aware of Phase Shift supporting 7 lane drums, it only displays RB3 style pro drum tracks on 7 lanes even though it's a 5 lane (4 tom/cymbal and a kick drum) format. Phase Shift isn't meant to be a clone of other rhythm games, so they're not afraid to do things a little different (ie. the real/advanced keys modes).

Okay, I understand.

I found another problem. The preview of HO/POs.
As far as I can see there's no real way in always knowing what note is gonna be displayed when you play it in Phase Shift/whatever rhythm game one uses. The 3 different settings for previewing HO/POs are Manual, FOF, and RF, none of which displays it properly.

FOF: Displays every note (including chords) that would automatically be a HO/PO as a HO/PO, even if the note is a forced Non-HO/PO. (Example).

RF: Does pretty much the same as FOF except it doesn't turn chords into HO/POs.

Manual: The best of the three, but still flawed. It misses the good part of the other two, which is that it should show where HO/POs are gonna be if they aren't forced on/off, (Example). As you see those notes are neither forced on/off, but in-game they're gonna be automatically on since they're so close to each other, so they should be displayed as HO/POs and not as non-HO/POs. If I force them off or make a big enough gap between them they should turn back into non-HO/POs, just like the FOF and RF settings.

FoF and RF previews in EOF have slightly different rules because those different versions of Frets on Fire had different HO/PO rules. I don't remember if the FoF developers ever clarified for us the exact rules that different versions of the game use to mark notes as HO/PO, so there's nothing I can do to improve the HO/PO preview for those games. I would need somebody experienced in the Python programming language to review the FoF/FoFiX source code and describe the specific math/rules the game uses to determine HO/PO notes before I change EOF's preview for them. The manual preview would be what people authoring for Phase Shift or Rock Band should use, it will show which notes are explicitly marked as HO/PO notes.

Is there a shortcut for Star Power?
I'm just wondering because it would be easier with that than to go under Note>Star Power>Mark. It would save a lot of time.

The last time I looked into accessing the Operating System's clipboard, it seemed like it would be complicated to do in Allegro (manually write code for each platform: Windows, Mac, *nix). If there was a simple way to do this, like adding in a single cross-platform library, I'm not immediately aware of one.

The latest hotfix adds GHWT authoring functionality:
*Added the ability to author accent drum note status using the Note>Drum>Accent submenus, for use in Guitar Hero World Tour authoring.
*Added a new GHWT related MIDI file that is created during save that can be converted to .chart format by importing into Feedback and then loaded with Buldy's GHWT Custom Songs Import Tool (http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=110650) to create customs with GHWT features such as forced HOPO notes, lane 5 toms and accent drum notes.

Hey rayn. Is there plans for harmonies support?

I don't think it'd be that hard, since it's just separate midi tracks, named HARM1, 2, and 3 respectively.
Not a big deal or anything, but it definitely would make everything easier and more efficient for people (like me) that want to do harmonies, but want to stick to EOF.

Right now, I chart each harmony part in "Part Vocals", then rename them respectively after importing to reaper, but as you can probably imagine, that can get a little tedious.

It probably wouldn't be extremely hard to add, but it would definitely takes plenty of time and testing to get it just right (especially when taking into account all the specific rules RBN used), so it's been one of those "some day" features on my list.

Whenever I go into Practice Mode in PS, I see that the songs are usually divided up into sections like "Bridge", "Solo1", "Solo2", etc. Is there a way to do this to custom songs via EoF or is that another utility completely?

For the beat that you want to add practice sections to in EoF, select the beat itself, (not a note on the beat) go to Beat at the top bar, then Events. From there, add an event to that beat. The general format is [section Bridge], replacing "Bridge" for whatever you want the section name to be. It can be anything, not just the ones that appear in RB/GH songs.

Thanks, Bomb. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but I followed the directions as given and it's at least visible in the piano roll.
