What I decided to do:

Completely erase it from the directory and reinstall from the base.

That alone, it still crashes when trying to save. I call hardware being an a s s hole. It's the hardware being dumb, has to be.

A couple weeks ago, it was working just fine, FTR

Could be a computer issue. Sometimes people say that after a reboot of the OS EOF will behave differently. That said, is EVERY project crashing when you save, even new ones? Does merely opening an existing project and saving without making any changes cause a crash? The EOF log may or may not reveal anything because it may not get the chance to write all the log output, but it may be worth me looking at.

There's the log file.

I'll try a different project, but honestly, I don't get why it does this.

Addendum: Hmmm...

So, I loaded a different project. It didn't crash while attempting to save.

That log indicates you're using the old 1.8RC12 release instead of any of the hotfix builds. If you can reliably cause a crash in the latest hotfix by opening a specific EOF project and immediately saving it, please send me that project file for testing.

It does because I had chosen to wipe the folder clean and reinstall from the base release I had (which I had said I did this earlier).

Project uploading - it's a multi-stem song so it'll be a bit...

Addendum: Done. TTFAF

Yeah. I figured it might be that. So, here's what it is those are trying to accomplish.

Freeform vocals in-between vocal phrases. Problem is, put any words in them, the words appear (unwanted).

If there's a better way to make freeform vocals, I don't know what that would be.

Harmonix generally put at least one letter and then the freestyle modifier (ie. #). That beta build supports your chart though. This bug only occurred when exporting the script.txt (FoF formatted lyrics) and lyrics.txt (plain text lyrics) during save, since the Lyrics checkbox being enabled in Song Properties.

Even with the freestyle modifier, in Phase Shift, anything in those freestyle lyrics would appear in the kah-rah-oh-kay style lyrics that appear on the top of the screen, which is why I made them just blank. Pretty sure it's the same for Clone Hero v.20 and later (since v.20 and later run like crap on my hardware I've not tested this out myself).

So, the previous builds didn't like putting in blank spots for the lyric scripts...huh.

The reason for that is that they're meant to be modifiers and not treated as lyric text (ie. they aren't displayed in-game in Rock Band). Since no such modifiers exist in text-only formats like script.txt, they get filtered out and then ended up being a lyric with no text, and that was a scenario the lyric export didn't take into account.
