Re: EOF 1.8b26 - Now with RB3 slide, tap, harmonic support
It might be a permissions issue. If you look in the eof_log.txt file, it should give some more information about the error. Also, could you provide the exact error message so I can double check that area of the code?
Re: EOF 1.8b26 - Now with RB3 slide, tap, harmonic support
Okay, here's the text for the file error. I can't get the folder error at the moment.
Keep in mind--I used the previous version of EOF when I got this message, and I had just put in an MP3 file.

Make sure your file is a valid OGG file.

Re: EOF 1.8b26 - Now with RB3 slide, tap, harmonic support
That means the OGG library EOF uses doesn't recognize your OGG file. Did you encode it yourself? Can you provide the file for testing? Do other OGG files you have work just fine?
Re: EOF 1.8b26 - Now with RB3 slide, tap, harmonic support
Like I said, I had entered an MP3 to be converted to an OGG. It only started giving me trouble with the OGG converter today--I have 40-plus fretted songs that started out as MP3's.

Please clarify when you get this error. Is it when you are creating a new project (File>New)? I ask because if you use File>Load OGG and select an MP3 file, you would receive this error.

If you try an MP3 that EOF was able to convert before, does it still fail? I tried an MP3 on my computer and it worked just fine, I might need one of the MP3s that is causing you this issue.

Certainly: http://www.mediafire.com/?3en6nwcwr8dxoac
I marked 4 events. First two are with db's event marker, second two are with db's section marker (they say "section [solo...]") Let me know if you want me to mark the text events as anything else.

The section events are now being altered to the proper [section NAME] format, but I just wanted to double check with you: Are Feedback's solo markers global for all tracks, or are there different on/off markers for each track? Or should [solo_on] and [solo_off] only apply to one of the tracks (ie. guitar)?
For now, I'll just have [solo_on] and [solo_off] events read during Feedback apply to the guitar and lead guitar tracks, as this is how FoF/FoFiX handles them.

Does this mean if I label a section name "chorus_1" then EOF will import it and rename it to "[section chorus_1]"? If so, that would be pretty useful.

I think FoFiX forced you to have the word "drum" in it to differentiate it from guitar (or bass or otherwise) solos. I'd say "solo_on" "solo_off" for lead guitar, then "drumsolo" for drums, I guess "basssolo" (looks weird) for bass.

Yep, "section chorus_1" and even "section [chorus_1]" events would be renamed to "[section chorus_1]" during Feedback import.

I looked up my old thread about section marker support in FoF (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7236) and I noted that they hadn't implemented a drum solo text marker yet. To be honest I doubt they ever got that far with it.

To answer your question, no. But just today, EOF has suddenly stopped giving me those errors. O.o If anything like I was seeing comes up again, I'll let you know. And no, I was not trolling you.
Thanks for the help!

Re: EOF 1.8b26 - Now with RB3 slide, tap, harmonic support
Maybe it was one of those "reboot fixes it" kind of problems.
Re: EOF 1.8b26 - Now with RB3 slide, tap, harmonic support
Possibly, although I rebooted my computer several times over several days before it worked again.
