Making Guitar Battles (Have a Question)

So, I'm thinking about charting song that are for guitar battles. I just have a question:
1.) Will I need both regular and Co-Op guitar parts,
2.) Do I need to add star power to them in order to gain your attacks?

2.) If you do not put star power it will be added automatically, but yes there has to be star power to gain attacks. Whether it is manual or generated.
