Keyboard on RB3? How about FoFiX!?!?!

Hey guys, whats up, so as most of you know there is going to be a new instrument introduced on RB3, we're gonna finally have Keyboard/Keytar!!!


so my question is, for you guys who are working on FoFiX version 4, have you guys been thinking of adding keyboards to FoFiX once you see how it's interface looks like? Give us a way to chart keyboard and stuff? We should know a ton about it in a week when it's revealed at E3, so it's just a thought I had. I think it'd be really cool being able to chart keyboard and play as well. Hope you guys give this some thought, thanks

There is now information on the Keyboard, it has 25 keys and it can be used either as a Keyboard or Keytar

In the meantime, the drum is pretty good to "emulate" a keyboard. Chart a keyboard/piano/whatever song in the drums part, play. :P

Good idea though. But coding the fretboard to have more keys than usual, hmm, we might need some extra ovtaves instead of 5. 6?

as of right now I don't know how the interface of the keyboard is going to look at all, I'm assuming there will be more then 5 keys, but everything is anonymous at the moment until June 14th when it's revealed at E3. Cena's Corner will then give us some details and then you can then figure everything out from there

sorry to burst your bubble(right there above) but the Green Day Rock Band demo has come about, actually the game it'self is now out, the RB3 demo hasn't come out, it hasn't even been seen yet. Like I said we'll know a ton more on the 14th, if not the 17th(the last day of E3)

Hopefully seeing the keyboard in game will give some base on how to copy it for FoF. I'm still interested in how Harmonix will set this up

Im pretty sure this has been discussed before in the thread in other music games. Harmonix i believe stated it wasnt an actual keyboard but a keytar. Most likely to prevent using up screen realestate, it will be probly around 5 - 6 keys (maybe more if the made notes especially for it).

It'd probably just be something similar to the slider bar in GH:WT.

First of all, BEFORE ANYTHING, they need to see it in action before they can even begin to start coding on it (add that to the list).

As has been stated above already, we don't know how keyboards would work.
There are a couple of threads in the thoughts section about how it might work, but never decided on anything solid. So, we wait for RB3 to see how they've done it, and base any further decisions off that.
We may want to wait and see what GH's response is, too.

Im hoping for harmonies at least. GH and RB have copied each other this far, so why not to the end.

I meant in regards to Keyboards. They already have "Keyboard Hero" trademarked and everything, after all.
