Re: STaRZ: *Updated* svn available
I finally got around to playing with 3D notes. IMO they could do with a bit more height, but they look really good. Especially the spinning star notes. The animation just really adds something to it.
It's just a pity there's no support for a separate texture for notes while overdrive is active, to make them look like the 2D equivalent.

@akedrou that sounds amazing. I'm going to play around with that tonight. Thanks a lot for doing that, it should make a few things a lot easier
Thanks, glad you liked em. The spin on those star notes was an accident though, I never intended for them to spin. I forgot to turn it off when testing and thought it looked pretty cool =\
I missed the overdrive textures too, I'll add them though if that ever ends up being supported.

Excellent job Hazzerz. I just tried your theme for the first time (via SVN) this afternoon and it's freakin' awesome.
I know you're not done tweaking it, but the little things don't bother me in the least. I can even run it on my old laptop (turning off stage animation) and the overall theme directory size is fine, maintains good fps, and the animated star notes look great. I am running beta 2, so like with most current themes there are some font size issues, but nothing that's a deal breaker. Overall very impressive for a completely custom theme.
Personally I need more time with it to recognized the hopo notes instinctively. Have you considered another style for them by chance? No biggie, I just gotta learn to adapt my reactions as I keep expecting "pimple heads" whenever I see round notes. I'm not judging, for all I know I might end up preferring the smaller notes for hopos. My plan is to run a few hours of expert charts this evening and get a real feel for it with an analog controller.
BTW, I busted out when I read "stay tuned for my next theme, rectanglez".....classic!
Thank you very much for sharing your work and I look forward to your updates whenever available.

Re: STaRZ: *Updated* svn available
Thanks a lot
I actually AM working on another theme at the moment (it's not rectanglez, sadly) so I'll keep your ideas in mind when I get to the hopos. I wouldn't mind changing the hopos here really, but I'm so used to them now it would be tough.
There should be another update in a few weeks for this though. I'm just now seeing the loading screen issue death_au first mentioned, as well as a few other things with the new beta, so I'll try to fix those. I did start work on some necks though, (a new default neck, solo, overdrive) and I'm toying around with battle notes. Plus, I was actually thinking of redesigning the menus. So we'll see.
Thanks much for the input.

This was the best custom theme I used so far. I'm currently using it because I support original ideas. Keep up this fantastic work, dude! Can't wait to see the next theme coming from you

IMO bumps to indicate praise for a theme that still works are fine by me. Besides, this theme in particular I think suffers from being a hidden gem. The more people that see it, the better.

Hey, everyone remember this theme? It needs more attention! It's amazing!
I had totally forgotten about it until now.
I feel that this thread needs a bump.

Svn is basically another way to download the files. All you need is a certain program like TortioseSVN that will get the files, this is mostly used to relase updates without uploading a whole new theme version.
Other than that, i loved this theme. It does need some updates though, maybe for 4.0?

I wonder... Does Hazzerz still visit here?
Can we get this forum going again?
