Rock Band 2 Theme - High Dynamic Range Edition

Postby Bagno » Thu May 28, 2009 3:38 pm

So yeah. I'm announcing HDR edition of UGO's and K.I.D's theme, almost all credits are going to them.
I'm just going to render stuff with HDR (High Dynamic Range Rendering - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynam ... _rendering) and post it here.
Hope you'll enjoy it. At the mean time, i need to download this theme first. But mediafire sucks, lately. 25KB/s, really? Should be 256KB/s.
Screenies are coming next day.

Why would you want an HDR? It's useless, and it surely will be ugly in this case

For me, game developer and "opinion monster" it's not useless. Because of 90% of people say so.

Isn't the themes... like fully made of images except for the frets and notes on some?
I mean what would you do, throw up a scene, render it with different lightning, slam a HDR label into the lower right corner and add it to the backgrounds list?

I mean, you can't fake a lightning technique like that in still images and hope to give it any justice.

It's not like I dislike sleeping, I really do like it to be honest. It's the whole wake up/go to sleep business I don't like.

My thought exactly. Don't think he knows what HDR really is.

I think he's gonna put lens flares all over the images or something and add blurovision.

Wait for HRD shader for fofix.
It is ready, but we also need for this:
- good lighting system (i'll make it after next release)
- really 3D rockmeter and and od/sp bar OR good normal maps support.

Return to “FoFiX”
