Is this release going to have both versions of python like beta 1? Or is it just going to be 2.6?

everyone this is a question about the guitar hero world tour fretings

Is anyone even working on that problem because ive seen many threads asking but all the devs just say is no
atleast someone should be working on the bass open notes, the extra pad on the drums and the "visible" substained notes on the gh:wt song rips

Do we have WT midi rips yet to test said features if they were being worked on?

Yes, sort of. At least, I've figured it out on my own from ripping the WT discs apart.

The MIDs are tricky. In GH3 F marked a HOPO toggle, but in GH:WT F marks the sixth note while F# marks the HOPO toggle. Not sure quite how to handle this in terms of MIDI. Since the GH3/WT MIDs are not done in the standard MID format, really the 'F'/'F#' claim is solely based on being the sixth and seventh bits, respectively, above the five established notes (C-E). Slide sections are marked with a marker note (as are vocal and drum freestyle sections) - and these will need to be mapped by us to an arbitrary MIDI note, as there is no "right" answer to it. Extended sustains are nothing in terms of the MID file.

...so uh... yes. And they are kind of being worked on.

...does this all mean that we should probably define the format before people write proper rippers / converters? Because that might actually make sense.

FoFiX 3.120 Beta 2 is now available.
Binaries are available in various flavors for MS Windows, GNU/Linux and MacOS X.
See the news and download links on our summary page.

There are still issues that should be resolved before releasing the final 3.120 version.
Please use our issue tracker for Issues that may come up. If the issue you are facing isn't already there, please fill a new report.

* Note about the GNU/Linux binaries: that I haven't been able to get working frozen 64bit binaries with python2.5 and pygame 1.9+svn. Moreover, i had to disable the window/taskbar icons for 32bit binaries, pygame just failed recognizing the icon format. Why is the later working in 64bit?! Go figure!

Windows Binaries for 3.120 beta 2

Python 2.4 + pyOpenGL 2

Archive: http://www.mediafire.com/?za22muyk4zc
Installer: http://www.mediafire.com/?wqwgbmymwyz

Python 2.6 + pyOpenGL 3

Archive: http://www.mediafire.com/?efrzyzujmoy
Installer: http://www.mediafire.com/?yohjzznn310

All of these are full packages, not patches. After the 3.120 beta 1 patch fiasco, I owe the community better this time around, so here we go: straight full packages. (The final release will indeed include patches made against this beta, but the patch will be against the same build environment [that is, mine rather than Chris's] as the version it patches, so such problems will hopefully be averted in the future.)
