Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Me again xD
I was thinking about the instrument selection screen. Is there anyway to make something like it?
Damn... for some reason the loop on gif isnt working, but, its a gif fading from one icon to other.
Instead of it? :|
Another thing is, is there any option to disable streak counter? And change in-game score counter color?
Thanks ^^

<guitar and bass icons fading from one to the other, as opposed to showing both separately>
Currently not possible, but this is a very good idea. I find it visually awkward showing both icons next to each other like it currently does.
There is no way to disable the streak counter, as far as I know. As for the colour, I'm not quite sure. Have you tried using the "ingame_stats_color" setting in the theme.ini? (Or does that only affect the "stats" view?)Ds~ wrote:Another thing is, is there any option to disable streak counter? And change in-game score counter color?

Also, my fps is at 119 in FoF and i turned off fps limiter
EDIT:
I turned off anti-aliasing and it goes a little faster but um is there anything else i can do to make it run smoother. Without getting rid of the animated effects
dang atleast you get high framerate :P
i only get 20 fps on mine with the lowest resolution
I don't know if i should be having my computer at that frame rate for FoFiX but if it lets me i put it.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
It's done. It's released. It's no more.
http://code.google.com/p/fofix
Frets on Fire X (yea, that's the real name) version 3.120 is finally released. Check the FoFiX Google Code page for the download links - or you can find the same files at my Mediafire if you'd ...rather see a bunch of ads.
Assuming these versions work, v3.1xx is no more. If you hang around the Google page much, you'd know we're jumping right on to 4.0 from here, as we're planning to break a fair amount.
To those of you on SVN, I suppose it's a good time to remind you to KEEP A COPY OF THIS RELEASE ON HAND!
Why? Well, the rules are pretty helpful in explaining that, but I'll give you a specific example: One of the first updates in is going to break compatibility with every theme out there right now. There will be relatively easy updates to keep your themes going, and we will provide them, but there will almost certainly be lots of settings resets, cache updates, and player profile changes. Expect brokenness. If you get a high score from here on until we finish redoing the score system, there's no guarantee that will even last.
Now go download.

Seems good just that my POV for RB2 theme has changed; not sure if it was off before and now its' proper but its defiantly changed since I had it alligned a certain way with my background.
Not a big deal though just wanted to mention it.

Basically, custom POV now works. If you'd like to change it back, just delete/comment out the POV lines in the RB2 theme.ini

Note to GNU/Linux players: As promised, i'm no longer releasing frozen binaries. As mentioned on the summary page, head to our download section and get the source archive. Then follow instructions found on our RunningUnderGNULinux wiki page.

1) My computer died
2) Pitchbend aka Cat Guitar is a module I have to remember to install
3) I did not
Good answer? Maybe not, but I'll probably go ahead and redo the packaging for that because...

Tee-hee
Turn off pitchbend for now.
--EDIT--
OK. Downloads should now all have pitchbend, and that error should be no more. Sorry to make you all re-download - trinidude, if you could grab the 3.120 from the maintenance branch (instead of the release tag) 'twould be ideal.

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Facebook page updated with the news. In case anyone is reading this has a Facebook account and isn't a fan... Why not? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Frets-on- ... 0447077793
While you're there, post some videos and/or reviews.
---- EDIT ----
A question: the 3.xxx branch will still be around, right?
I bring this up because it might be worth bringing to people's attention that they can still report bugs in 3.120 and there may be the possibility of having them fixed in minor revisions (so people can download a 3.121 bugfix patch, for example)

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Congrats with the new release!
I have an issue/question; My setlist is always sorted by band difficulty, no matter what I tell it to sort by.
I'm using revision 1893 with K.i.D.'s RB2 theme.
Thanks and keep it up!

Re: FoFiX v3.1xx development thread
Hi,
I downloaded the 3.120 final but for some unknown reason the main menu just shows as a black screen (cant see anything other than pitch black), but I can still navigate into the game or options and they appear fine once I've gone out of the main screen. Also I tried to put the Megalite GH3 theme on but it didnt have the rock meter etc., looked wrong in other ways (the notes looked like they were done on old Atari or something).
In my fofix.log when I load up it says "(W) OpenGL extension ARB_shader_objects not supported - shaders disabled" after initializing video. Could this be the problem causing blank main menu screen?
I tried both python versions 2.6 and 2.4, same probs :(
