Mac :wink:

I think I have everything compiled for python 2.5 for Mac. I also have everything for python 2.6, but for some reason it's not portable. Py2app has problems with gst for python 2.6 only. I may only be able to put up a python 2.5 binary. Also, if gst-plugins-good is needed, I'm having problems compiling that. Making a universal build of all this gstreamer stuff was a pain, so hopefully it works for you ppc people.

the GStreamer binarys from http://www.gstreamer-winbuild.ylatuya.e ... d=download already include the required GLib/gtk files.
so you don't need to have the gtk/glib files separately, as i assumed before

i tried the portable setup on another machine (usb stick), and video playback works fine using only the gstreamer binarys
i use this script to set up the environment variables

Code: Select all

set Path=%Path%;%~d0\Python26;%~d0\Python26\Lib\site-packages\pywin32_system32;%~d0\ProgramFiles\gstreamer\bin
set GST_PLUGIN_PATH=%~d0\ProgramFiles\gstreamer\lib\gstreamer-0.10
C++ code is tasty.

Ok, I gave it a try and it lags horrible. I don't know if it works, but we could improve the performance greatly if we use Hardware Overlays like Movie Players do. I don't know if it's possible in OpenGL apps though.

Thought in new revision, can "pause on loss of focus" be moved in with the "mods,cheats,AI"

I may not be able to play it , but i can still get into the menus :)

Pause on lose focus is a change of the gameplay... It's not a mod (obviously, as it's not in the mod folder), it's not a cheat (as it doesn't give you any advantage), and it isn't related to the AI.

I don't suppose there's ever any plans for a video lag option? My new setup makes FoF pretty much unplayable

A good cop-out for video lag might be the option to just move the fret bar up more, that might work

I would like to take a moment to point out the existence of a wonderful little invention known as an issue tracker.

Use it instead of posting in this thread if you don't like the idea of your post and all discussion of it getting buried in unrelated verbiage.

As for that idea, though, we will almost certainly look into working something out for video lag in 4.0.0 - if, that is, there's an issue reminding us to.

With the current release of FoFiX, how do I turn off the glowing at the bottom, and the colored bar at the top? I have been turning on and off settings and nothing has worked.

Display Settings->Advanced Video Settings->More Effects.

@ evilynux:

I've noticed that the Animated Main BG and Animated Loading Screen are added to the to-do list of 4.0.0. Can you please add FoFiX issue 10 also as it is also possible now due FoFiX issue 237. I know that this is a open-source project and you don't get paid for all your effort you put in this project, but i sure do appreciate if you consider doing this. :smile:
