how could this possibly be meant to scroll this way? instead of scrolling 100% of the way down then seamlessly looping so it looks like a continuous strip, its going down like 50% of the way then skipping back to the start. its VERY annoying and looks completely broken.

I know, right? I'm talking about the neck bouncing (NOT ABOUT THE ****ING TEXTURE), and I think it should only happen when the drummer hits a bass note. God damn.

Evil-doer, I responded to you, with a link!

wait a second. is this "neck jump" thing you are talking about the overdrive overlay skipping instead of being seemless when it scrolls? i was going to report this as a bug.. that cant possibly be a feature? its horrid.

also your name and stats are drawn overtop of each other at the end of a song in rb2. not sure if its just the resolution im in or something. i can supply a screenshot if its not a known problem.

Were going to report it as a bug? Please tell me, as an alpha-tester, that this is the only issue you have found that you just sat on without telling anyone.

Anyway, no need. I reported it a week or so ago in FoFiX issue 743. Go forth, star it, let the devs know I'm not the only one. Bonus prize for starring the issue: Free e-mails regarding the status of said issue!

Seriously, 'alpha-testers', when testing, how about we actually test? And keep up-to-date with the breakages, their respective causes, and the Issue Tracker. Is that so much to ask?

Edit: p_025, about the neck, in a recent revision Pascal added some new necks and changed the defaults. Simply change your neck again -- to the black one.

I already looked, it's not in there anymore. Also, I tried changing it to one of the gray ones instead, and it didn't change, it stayed as the famey-red type thing.

Ah, I see now. I already had another transparent neck in my necks folder. Pascal replaced the default. You could roll back to the revision prior to its removal, rename the default neck, and then svn up, allowing you to have both.

As far as the not changing goes, I think changing it in the game menu does not affect character profiles. Meaning you need to change it in the character screen as opposed to the neck screen in options.

I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, I have not made an issue about this because I am not certain if the default neck setting in options applies for a new character or not. It should not affect current profiles, however, any new profiles it should. I do not know if that is how it works though, so it may indeed be a bug.

Judging from the file location I doubt that it's anything other than windows (unix OSes uses a /folder/folder/folder structure, not device:\folder).

Thanks =) But it's very strange:

r1556: most of the recent error handling changes have been reverted and replaced with much better, much cleaner code.

(Most importantly: compilation errors don't get eaten anymore! They now actually make it into the log.)

The code checks for shader support the "right" way (return value of glInit___ARB()) now.

Combined, these two things should alleviate a lot of the difficulty that currently exists in troubleshooting shader-related problems.
