Also, I submitted FoFiX issue 701 about the drum crash for animated hitflames (I may have abused my google code permissions to mark it as an issue for the 3.120 milestone)

FoFiX issue 701 fixed in r1358. (Abusing power? Psh. If we let that one through to the release it would have been pretty comical. Comically bad.)
Controller-specific delay was something I was thinking of as well. Haven't looked at how delay is handled yet, so who knows.

....aaaand it's fixed. Thanks akedrou

I don't know why I'm resistant to the google code issues list. I really should use it more often...

Heyy !
I know I'm stupid as hell, but I downloaded the game, and they ask me to choose the folder.
But when I go to the songs folder, I can't do anything except [Parent Folder]

Why ? Or where am I wrong ?

your songs folder has to be named "songs"
...and should probably have some songs in it. I assume you have some? (just checkin')

this is a strange problem but here it is,

my 360 gh3 wireless is worn out (intermitently missing presses) so i hooked up my wii rb2 guitar (feels weird) but works fine

for some reason though the screensaver and power management screen shutoff will activate while in the middle of playing a song now like windows is inactive, can this be fixed?

edit: if fofix is on in full screen mode the screen saver and power managment shouldn't break in even if it is inactive

Edit2: this only happens if the "on resume, password protect" option is checked on the screen saver tab of display properties.

edit 3: couldn't reproduce on the main menu but did during play with the "on resume, password protect" off

Also, why is there a solo in "Stephen and the Colberts - Charlene (I'm Right Behind You)"? I've looked in the midi file and there is no solo section marked, yet when you play it there's a solo…
Does it have practice mode sections with the word "solo" in them? FoFiX makes those into solos, provided there isn't some other instrument name before it (e.g. "Organ Solo").

Memes are so funny hahaha I'm splitting with laughter I can't control this laughter at this meme which uses a word incorrectly oh hahaha

:glare:

That was EPIC.

My songs. All made in EOF, beat-synced and note-synced, not very many missed notes.

Little suggestion for measureing delay.

  • Options>
    • Measure Delay>
      • Times to measure controller delay: 5 (default)
      • Controllers to measure>
        • Controller 1: On
        • Controller 2: On
        • Controller 3: Off
        • Controller 4: Off
      • Measure Controllers (Should be done before A/V)>
      • Measure A/V delay>
Measuring controllers brings up a countdown, the user should strum/hit a drum pad when the countdown reaches 0. Repeating several times will help measuring the actual controller delay.
A/V delay.. well a simple series of notes about one beat between each (EOF A/V delay "song" would probably work good here).

Anyway it's just a suggestion. Oh and I'd just like to mention that controller delay doesn't really have anything to do with A/V delay (the delay between audio and video doesn't have much to do with the input, if the audio and video matches good don't touch it).

Do we have to make a new thread to cut down on the drama and "when's the next release" crap? FoFiX Development and FoFiX Public thread seperately? :tongue2:

In any case, I haven't really expressed this before, but I truly appreciate the effort put into the code, and the patience the developers have with us testers. You're truly a amazing bunch and I hope that you will stick around for quite some time!

I assume this will be before the release, but it's not something I am working on so I can't say for sure. That version (as you have heard) uses a new version of OpenGL that makes our rendering method burdensome to the computer and obsolete.
As for the AV delay, try changing the delay display from "Friendly" to "Numeric" and see if you can't find a consistent average off amount. One of the feature requests is better delay calibration - that is among the things I've got my eye on if no one gets to it first, so ... it will be gotten to. Eventually.

I think you're right, because it worked fine in the last version, and i just can't get the sync right now (both of my controllers are wired by the way.) I'll just roll back to 1.00, or maybe 1.20 with python 2.4 for now. I'll try it again when the rendering is improved.
Thanks a lot for the work and the help, guys. Sorry about the crap you've been reading lately.

Great Work!, the "shader" version (3.120 beta ) is wonderful. A bit distracting with all that flashing colors but beautiful. The new tails are great.

So when I posted this, I should have waited until the weekend sine no-one notices the fofix bug posts? I know I don't have an avatar and not alot of posts, but it would be cool if someone would notice.

Hey!

I just downloaded FoFiX today and I really like it. I'm just having a small problem:

The song volume doesn't turn down, if I don't hit a note. And this actually feels like I'm just pressing coloured buttons without affecting the song.
So, if I don't press any button/note, the song just plays normal.

I changed the "missed volume" in the audio-menu, but it didn't change anything.
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Did you also change the "Single Track Miss Volume" setting? If you're playing custom songs, the track isn't muted or the whole song would be muted.

Yhea. I already tried to set all volumes down (except guitar volume), it didn't work. Song just played.

EDIT:
Okay, nevermind. Just installed it again and it's working now. Strange world, strange computer. xD
But thanks for your help.

In fact, you offered no usable information as to what the bug is that I can use to find it. The log file is quite helpful in this circumstance. Complaining isn't so much.

It's unfortunate, but I don't have time to play songs until I reproduce your bug. I've finished songs and started new ones and it doesn't crash for me. My guess is it's related to the player database timing out and closing - which in fact is an issue from a few weeks back on Google code and one I am working on already - because I read your previous post but didn't think it was worth saying I would look at something when the Google Code issue list already says that.
