It could possibly be because of differences in drive letter. Is the drive letter for you usb-stick different from computer to computer?

I played this most of sunday and could not get the problem to happen again, maybe it was a one off? as the game was on four at least 5 hours and played 30 -40 songs for no repeat of said problem.

It's basically skipping a lot, making every song unplayable. It also plays no sound for the instruments. Vocals play fine but I hear no audio from drums, bass, and guitar. Anyone know how to fix this? I've messed with the audio settings and volume to no avail.

Anyone?

So are my performance problems just unfixable?

Have you tried upgrading to pygame 1.9?
Performance on FoF/iX is weird and unpredictable on a lot of machines. All you can do is try and see if it helps.
I saw a suggestion in another part of the forum that having a pci sound card (instead of onboard graphics) can help a lot too, but if it's running fine in xp on the same machine that might not be it (unless it's then a sound card driver problem)

Long story short: I don't know. All you can do is try and see.

I've had Beta 2 a week now, everything's going fine except now... I changed some graphic settings, and after that the error started, I tried to change it back but can't remember exactly what I changed. So I've changed a lot of things... The error comes when I play a song... It plays for 10~20 seconds, then this comes up:

Unfortunately adio, quite a few people seem to be having that problem and none of the devs have commented on solutions, that I know of.

khcat, it sounds like your graphics card does not support shaders, or at least not the level required by FoFiX.

It's related to your settings for your stages. Go to "Stage settings" (under display settings) and turn off animated stages. I'm not sure what you set to cause it to do that, but I have fixed it in the code for release. Until then you'll have to play around until you find it yourself =P

The issue being... Did you read the rules of the forum? Where it says if you are having a problem you should know your log file? In your logfile it will likely say that shaders are not supported by your system, and have been disabled. That is largely the reason people get frustrated - the information you need is in a giant post that says RULES. If that is not the case, then we can start working on a solution.

Are you guys going to include an option to turn the bass neck bump on/off? I really don't care for it and it causes more lag than anything else. It'd be really nice if I could turn it off.

Also there's a glitch that crashes FoFiX a ton. I'm using FoFiX 3.100 final. It happens when I'm playing my electronic drums using MIDI inputs, with multiple inputs for each pad. (ex, a cymbal and a tom for green). When I play, sometimes one of the notes will stay highlighted (as if its being held down) and won't come up until its hit again (though it has no effects on gameplay while being held down). I think when two different notes get highlighted, that's when it crashes, but I can't be for sure. Again, this only happens when I have multiple pads playing to the same color.

Don't know what log you need, so to be safe ill post both.

For those having problems with the black screen (no menu) issue, try downloading the python 2.6 package and see if you get the same thing.
I honestly wouldn't have a clue what the issue is at this stage, but if the python 2.6 / opengl 3 package works fine, that might narrow it down a little.
